Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've been looking at the Seville's and have really taken a liking to them. We're just looking and gathering information at this point, we don't go on the road till January 2012.
Has anyone out there have a Seville? If so, how do you like it? How does it pull? Can you give us any tips?
We didn't buy the Seville but did see the first ones on the assembly lines at Crossroads. This would be in 07 when the Seville and the Kingston first came out.
We had some things we didn't care for on the Seville but were told to see it at Hershey they were still finalizing it.
We got to Hershey and there was still something off about it. A full time couple (The Brideandjoy and I were in the shopping phase then) pointed out that the 38 foot Seville had less cubic feet of storage then the 35 foot Kingston even though the Kingston was the "low end" unit and the Seville was the "fulltime" unit. They pretty much crossed the thing off right there for that reason.
In talking more with the factory people there appeared to be some deliberate choices made to make the Seville less "camper" like and more "apartment" like.
Some people love that. We opted for a fiver with more storage and therefore was more "camper" like in Crossroads eyes then what they were doing with the Seville.
As a general thing I would not buy any fifth wheel without sitting in it long enough for that excited feeling to go away and for you to start to plan out where everything would fit. We ran into problems with that on the Seville.
Just one man's opinion and worth every penny you paid for it.
Your rationale is absolutely right on no matter whether a fiver or a MH. However, I do feel you are overcharging a bit for your knowledge, even as valuable as it is! Charles (much tongue in cheek)

Thank you so much for your reply. As it is a newer model, we just can't find alot of info on it. But as I said, we've just started looking and are looking at all of our options. We do know we want a 5th wheel over a MH but thats the only decision we've actually made.
I agree with the previous posters about sitting in the 5th wheel & asking yourself about things that are important to you. I did that last weekend, and was asking myself things like - Where will my dog's beds go? Is there room for my small bookshelf? Is there room for a covered kitchen trash can that's not inside a cabinet? Will my favorite chair fit in place of the recliner that comes with the RV? Some things that I want to bring along are non-negotiable, so I have to be sure I find a rig that will fit my needs. Looking at a floorplan online helps, but I think you really need to sit in several of them.
Since you have some time prior to purchase suggest you plan on attending as many RV shows as possible!
This is a fantastic outing and will provide you numerous options and possibly add to your confusion because of all the choices.
It helped us tremendously, we narrowed our choices down to 3-4 prior to purchasing.
It was great fun researching and looking, it almost became an obsession! We purchased our 5th wheel in March of 2009 and we are very happy with our RV!
This is a fantastic forum with a wealth of knowledge and the best supporters with honest opinions!
We also looked at the Seville a couple of times. One of the things I have done is when we see someone overnighting at Wal-Mart that is in a rig we are looking at, we will stop and talk to them about their likes and dislikes. Most people are glad to share their experences with you. We went to our local Wal-Mart one afternoon and saw a Seville there in the overnight area so I went and talked to them. They were from California so they had pulled it accross the country here to Florida. They said they like the unit, only had a few minor issues and were satisfied with their choice. They took us on a tour of their coach and showed us all the features.
Rob what part of FL are you residing in we are in central FL, Lake County. Currently we are sitting in a campground in Crystal River FL our weekend getaway spot at Elite Resorts and I am using my new birthday gift my own Netbook, so now we can BOTH be online at the same time!
We also would love to be full timers but with the real estate market as poor as it is here in FL we have to wait it out for a while.
As for the 5th wheel purchase. We did same as you we talked to many people who owned 5rs and got their opinions. We had a "short list" of what we wanted and we did not think we would find it in FL and we didn't we found it online and Gary drove to MI to pu our RV. We saved dougle digits doing it this way and we have no regrets.
If you have not made your purchase by the first of 2010 I would strongly suggest attending the RV Show in Tampa at the Fairgrounds and wear good walking shoes it is amazing!
Good luck and let us know how the process goes. Susan
