Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

2006 Freightliner (Update)....

We we and got the 2006 Freightliner M2,  and its awesome.   We just thought since we are going up to the 2010 Mobile Suites 38 TKSB 4 the additional weight required more Truck and in opinion you can't have to much Truck.   And we really missed the Air ride Suspension, Air ride seats and of course the FL has a ton of bells and whistles.   Looking forward to Aug and going to Elkhart Ind. and picking up the 2010 MS.  The 2009 36 TK 3 is a heavy 5er and the 38 TKSB 4 is a heavier 5er.   GBY....

We went and pick-up the new 2010 Mobile Suites 38 RSSB 3,  we are very pleased.   Got there Monday afternoon and departed Tuesday at 1:30 pm and are now just South of Louisville.

RE: 2006 Freightliner....

Congratulations on getting a new truck and a new fifth wheel coming.

We would be curious to know more about your M2.  Did you buy it new or used?
How did you go about finding it?  Is it the M2-112?
I feel we need to buy a truck like that in order to get the type fifth wheel I want.
Any info on your decision and options on the truck would be helpful.

Thanks
Dixie

Congratulations on your new truck. We have an older FL-60 and have been happy with the way it pulls and brakes. Some people ask why we have such a big truck to pull the 5ver. I tell them" it's not big, it's the right size" We have no other vehicle and use it as our runabout wherever we are located. Best wishes to you and your new MS as well.

Dixie, we were very Lucky, the dealership had this 2006 Frieghtliner M2 112 which was traded in (1 owner). And we just happened to call the dealership and they told us about the FL. And we had a need and actually had always wanted the FL MDT. But the cost factor was our problem we just didn't want to spend a $100,000 dollars. But since our 2008 Chevy 1 ton was paid for we didn't spend near a $100,000. Our Freightliner MSRP when new was a $115,000. So we think we have a good deal. The engine is a Mercedes Benz 330 hp and 1,000 lbs of Torq all Air ride seats. Its the second best riding Truck we have ever owned, the first was a Chevy Kodiak 4500. And since the new 2010 Mobile Suites is much heavier than the 2009 we felt the need to get a bigger Truck. We ordered a Trailer Saver air ride 5th wheel hitch (TSLB2H 32,000 lb capacity) so we want ever have a the need to get a heavier hitch. The Insurance cost $200.00 per year more than our 1 ton dually. Our Freightliner has 51,000 miles and the Mercedes has a 500,00 mile life before time for rebuild. So we want have a problem with the power plant. We have $60,000 dollars in this Truck. Sure we could have went to a HDT for less money but we felt the Frieghtliner was our best choice for our needs. And of course its hard to find a HDT with just 50,000 miles. But I would have had no problem going with the HDT, I'm from the school of you can't have to much Truck. Good Luck with your future travels. GBY...

I have an 07 listed in the classified section, if you're looking for an M2.
