Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I would like to hear from some of you fellow Dreamers about the Sleep Number Bed. Mr Alfie and I both have back problems, and we are hoping the SNB will be the answer for us. Any comments.. pro or con, would be much appreciated..
I have a Sleep Number Bed & love it. I've had back surgery, & a regular innerspring mattress just doesn't work for me anymore. I really like being able to adjust the firmness/softness whenever I want, depending on how I'm feeling at the time.
Linda and I both really like our sleep number bed. We had one,(King Size), in our stix & brix house and bought a queen size for our MH when we went Full-timing. Have since moved it to our second MH. I've had back problems for years, and it really seems to help.

This is another option for an airbed. They are just like the sleep number beds, but considerably cheaper when we last checked. We have one of these in our sticks & bricks, and love it - plan on taking it with us in the RV!
The only difference we found was that you don't have a "number" to set your firmness level to, but you tend to develop a "feel" for where you like it, anyway.
Give these a look before you plop down the big bucks for a sleep number bed!

Just have to remember to lower the air pressure before traveling thru the mountains...
Our coach came with the SNB...we don't have any back issues so can't address that aspect. I do like being able to adjust my side of the bed separately. One possible issue I can see arising is if there is a big difference in pressure between each side. The bed will tend to droop on the outside edge and the middle will have a depression.

Most of the newer ones have a thick padded top on them so you don't feel the cold. At least we don't feel it on ours.

We have had a Sleep Number bed for over seven years. Since both of our RVs have had real queen mattresses we were able to use a standard house model. We have a wireless remote control and pillow top and it does not get cold. Last year one of the two air bladders started leaking and the replacement cost us $37 with shipping with the 20 year warranty covering most of the cost. We like it and appreciate having the numbers when we change elevation, when we are tired it is hard to judge the right stiffness. Some friends had issues with the foam separator since they liked to cuddle up in the middle, so for them it did not work. They are happy using a memory foam topper, which is a $100 item.

Everyone... thank you so much for taking time to send in your comments on the Sleep Number bed for us. We are in the process of putting the mattress in our rig now. I am happy to have a new bed.. hubby is happy that he will not have to put up with a grouchy ol' woman, deprived of sleep..
