Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

It Was A Difficult Decision (Well, maybe not.)

August seems to be fast approaching.  With its imminent arrival, it is time to consider what one does for vacation.  Over the years we have gone from vacationing in June or July to the last of August.  That is so we can also take advantage of the extra day brought on by Labor Day.

However, this year there were other considerations.  For one, we could do our usual thing and go to the mountains of Colorado (like we almost always seem to do), or we could take a week and go to Northern Indiana and tour the RV factory that makes the Doubletree fifth wheel trailer, which we have decided on, if and whenever our house sells.  Our third option was to hold off until October and take in the RV Dreams rally planned for the San Antonio area.

Jo, who by the way seems to be overworked lately, said it was ALL my decision.  (I hhhaaaatttttteeeee it when she does that to me.)  So what to do?

After careful consideration, with keeping in mind the number of people on these forums that I have somewhat come to know, I must confess that you all just didn't cut the mustard this time.

WE"RE GOING TO COLORADO.

This time though, we are going to take TWO weeks instead of one.  Where we normally boondock in a National Forest campground called Purgatoire River Campground in somehwhat South/Central Colorado, this year we are gonna have hook-ups.  We have reservations for Sportsman's Campground up by Pagosa Springs.  If you all rememeber Howard and Linda's journal entries, Sportsman's is just seven miles from V.A. Poma Ranch where they workkamped last year.

In one sense, that is very fortunate for us.  It helped to go back to their journal entries and see where they went.  So, we have planned to take a few of the same excursions that Howard and Linda did.

In reality, it wasn't that hard of a decision.  EVERY year, the mountains really call out to me.  Ever since I was a little tyke, my family has gone camping.  (There's a campfire story to tell about me.  Somthing about bear hunting with a rubber knife.  But that story will have to wait.)  So it is just natural that the mountains have such a hold on me.

I'm excited about this year for two reasons:  we are doing two weeks instead of one and Jo has purchased a new Nikon camera, so both of us will be taking pictures.

So, in all, I guess its just too bad to be you'all since we will go to the mountains instead of San Antonio.  (Actually, my hope is that we can still squeeze that one in later.)

Everyone have a great Summer.  I plan on having one.

Well, better go start getting the (current) fifth wheel ready.  Have to troubleshoot the refrigerator operation on gas.

Terry

Terry,

Sounds great.  We just moved to Arco ID to be in place for a weeks vacation in West Yellowstone.  We're both looking forward to a week in the mountains (Normally this is a no no since the cell coverage is spotty.)
