Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Another lurker here. We are about 3 years plus out from doing this full time. We talk about it daily :) -- Or at least I find a way to insert some sort of RV comment into conversation on a daily basis . We are going the 5th wheel route and have a truck already. We are ready now!!!- However, the kiddos and retirement. (Minor details... ) I am online daily reading anything I can find and hoping for new replies on threads. I have learned alot already from reading forums and will talk to anyone about the lifestyle!!! We are veteran travelers and campers, but new to this aspect (full timing). I am not sure how soon we will purchase the full time rig, probably in about 2 years so we have it for a bit before we live in it full time. Luckily we live in a temperate climate so we aren't having to wait to escape horrid winters.
Welcome to the RV Dreams Family. This forum is a great source of info. If you have any questions, just ask - there are lots of friendly, helpful folks out there.
That 3 years will go really fast, but it will give you time to learn all you can about full-timing.
Read all you can on the subject, and as Colleen said, be sure to ask if you have questions. You've found one of the friendliest forums on the Internet, with lots of great people.
Enjoy the journey to full-timing.
Jim

Thanks for the replies! I am sure it will go quickly. As I am sure it was with all of the others currently on the road, I am starting to grapple with the downsizing/decluttering/dumping/disposing/depositing-with-unsuspecting-family/ etc. I am looking forward to it, but am also honest about how much we truly own... It just might take the 3 years.
Well if you anything like us we started 3 years ago and still have a barn full of S T U F F. We have no idea what some of it is ....but let go of it ....heck no...we may need it some day.... If we can figure out what it is...
Hi Speedy, :) Got one shed cleaned out yesterday. HUGE. So, it begins. My other half has said we have to have a storage unit. I am not sure how big of one he is envisioning. I am grateful we don't have a barn, although I may be kidding myself as we have several sheds garage etc... I am excited for you heading out finally! Good luck
Welcome to a great forum!! You will love it here. Feel free to ask questions cause there is a wealth of folks here that can help you with the answers.
You aren't starting too early! It takes awhile to get things in order. We have been working toward our goal for at least 3 years and now we are sitting and waiting on the house to sell. The housing market might be in better shape in 3 years if you plan to sell your home.
Again, good luck in your future plans and welcome!!
