Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Greetings from Georgia

Lurker finally came in from the cold. Enjoy reading about the exploits of all the RV-Dreams family.

My wife and I are a little ways away from retirement but we are already planning the post-work time together. We have two daughters who will, someday, leave the nest and allow us to travel more and enjoy. But for now, work is still a four-letter word!

Welcome Georgia X,
My wife and I were married and lived in Covington Ga. 1980-1983 and then moved to Alabama. We prepared for 2 years prior to selling our place and going fulltime in our RV a year and a half ago. No regrets. We followed Howard and Linda's "RV Dreams" which helped us greatly. You will find people on this forum friendly and willing to help. Best wishes on your plans. The kids eventually will leave the nest. We had one that boomeranged three times, but now has a house of her own.
God bless,
Allan and Jeanne

Welcome!
As I read the original post, it occurred to me that we might have a side benefit of travelling with our kids....maybe they'll desire their independence sooner than later just for the roomier accomodations of their own place! Allan and Jeanne - your boomerang term made me laugh out loud! Michael and Joyce, best wishes as you lay out your plans! Linda

Allan and Jeanne...

Covington is a great place. We lived in Conyers for many years and have been in Georgia since 1988 (transplants from the Southside of Chicago - Go White Sox!).

I enjoy  telling people that we meet along the way that Covington, Georgia is famous for being the actual shooting location of the TV show "In the Heat of the Night" as well as the first season of "The Dukes of Hazard".

Not sure about taking the kids out n the road and home schooling since we are active Foster Parents in Newton County and enjoy that community too ,much right now to let it go. But we are patient and someday we will hit the road...permanently!
