Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are Joe and Nikki in our early 60’s and started full timing in June 2008.We have been following RV-Dreams for a couple of years which has kept us vicariously involved in our own dream of full timing. In 1998 we purchased a 26’ trailer (which we called TrailsEnd) pulled by a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee and started traveling on our short vacations. This was the tail wagging the dog. In 2003 we traded for a 29’ Class C Motorhome with 2 slides. In 2005 we started pulling a Jeep Wrangler as our toad. Then in late 2006 we traded for a Class A diesel pusher. This was our plan since the incarnation of full timing took hold us around 2004. We have been camping since the early days our marriage in the 1960’s. In those days it was the infamous VW Microbus, which we kept until the mid 70’s. Then it was on to 4x4 desert camping and dirt biking until one miserable Thanksgiving with cold winds in a small dome tent with 3 sons and cold slices of turkey. For the next 16 years or so, roughing it was a bad view at the Holiday Inn. Now of course our diesel pusher is not roughing it, it is our condo on wheels. The house went up for sale in April 2008. Shock of all shocks it sold in 2 weeks, in fact we had 2 offers competing for it. We are living currently at Newport Dunes RV Resort in Southern California as we wind down our full time jobs with a time frame of nowto 18 months. We will see ya all when our paths cross down the road. Safe journeys.
Welcome to the friendliest RV Forum in North America. You certainly have "earned your stripes" via all the forms of camping you have done. You gotta love a motorhome after experiencing Thanksgiving in a tent with slices of cold turkey.
See you around the forum!

Joe and Nikki...you are so much like Sherri and I with all the different types of RVs. We too are on the last 4 months of work and will soon be moving out on the road. We have lived in our RV for the past 3 years and love it. I hope that we will get to meet you both real soon. Until then don't be a stranger here. Please help us answer questions and help each other out in this fantastic life style.
You certainly sound much like my wife and I. Although, we haven't started the full time part yet. We have a few years until retirement, even though I am also in the early 60's. Our home is up for sale and we plan on living in a luxury RV of some kind (presently looking at a fiver) until we retire. That will give us time to get it paid off.
Then, I'll see if I can travel the country and wear out a couple of cameras.
Welcome to the forum. It is populated with a lot of friendly and helpful people.
Terry
