Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Frozen In Minnesota...But not forever

Greetings everyone!
I have been lurking for over a year and thought it was time to jump right in and join in the fun.  Thanks for the opportunity.
My name is Bob and my bride of 34 years answers to the name Sue.
After living in Iowa, South Florida and California, we have spent the last 19 years here in the frozen tundra most call Minnesota.
Retirement is within sight now with another 3-4 years to close up this chapter of life and begin the next.
We have been RV'ers/campers on and off all our married life and have recently increased the number of nights out substationally over the past few years.
Two years ago we made the decision to chart a plan to fulltime and have been actively working to turn those dreams into reality.
We have been reading many of your blogs and thank you for taking the time to put into words your thoughts and experiences. It has been a real treat!
Thanks,
Bob

Welcome and remember "this too shall pass" in relation to the frozen life in the tundra.  We might think of ourselves as "depressed in Georgia."  We have been trying to sell our house for awhile.  Wouldn't you know our big moment would come during the worst housing market in years!!  By the time you guys are ready this horrible housing market should have passed.

We are so glad you are here.

Welcome Bob & Sue

We workcamped at St Cloud Rv Park a few years ago and Mn is beautiful in the summer but as soon as the Park closed in the middle of Oct we headed south. I still monitor the temps there and the owner of the park just sent some pictures of the snow and even though we're originally from Pa. I don't think I could make it thru a Mn winter.

Hello Bob & Sue!
We're new members here. We are also in Minnesota. I have lived here my entire life, but my husband has only been here six years. He's from Texas. We are wannabes right now. We've talked about it for years, and finally realized this IS what we want to do. Our youngest is just finished sixth grade and we plan to leave after she graduates, so we have six years to plan & save. We're so excited and can't quit talking about it now that we've decided for sure. I'm totally okay with being a wannabe for six years, our turn will come. I'll be cheering you on as you leave Minnesota and set forth on your adventure.

Well, here I am -- we too have been lurkers for quite some time and it's time to come out of hiding:)  I am Marilyn and my DH is Alan.  I retired last June after 23 yrs as a civilian court reporter for the USAF.  Alan is retired AF and is working on retiring from his second career, hopefully sooner than later.  We have been campers most of our married life and in Dec purchased our new home -- a new, never titled '07 Winnebago Voyage.  We are in the process of preparing our house to sell, but we plan on auctioning it in hopes it will be over and done with in a very short time.  We are blessed in that we don't owe much on it.  We hope to workkamp to help pay for our travels.  We currently live in AR -- returned here after DH retired from active duty to be near family.  Now parents have all passed and kids have moved elsewhere -- OK, TX and NC.  Only thing holding us here is house and job.

We have certainly learned a lot from this website and appreciate all the experience and guidance provided.

Alan & Marilyn
