Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Good news folks!

The economic downturn must be over!  We went to the Ft. Worth RV show today and the prices did not reflect an economic disaster at all.  Going by the show prices, there's no problems in the RV industry at all.  Isn't that good news?  Funny thing was though, there wasn't very many sales people around to tell us about their products.  Maybe it's just my imagination.biggrin   Dave

I never considered an RV show a good place to buy. Every dealer I visited told me that dealers pay huge amounts of money to attend the shows, and they have to pay somebody to deliver all the RV's, clean them and make them presentable, etc. They told me those costs had to covered in any sales they made. Obviously they were still trying to sell me something, but suggested the best would be just before an RV show they planned to attend, or like automobiles, in December so they don't have to pay taxes on un-sold units. I have never been in the business so I don't know if this is good advice or not.

But I know of what you speak, I saw the same thing when car shopping. Other than the lack of salespeople you would never know there was any problem with the industry. I had expected them to really want my business, but that was not what I found. They act like nothing is wrong. And now it's not unusual to drive by dealerships that are empty and out of business.

We went to a few shows and to some local dealers and to talk to them you'd think RVs were flying off the showroom floor at warp speed.  Prices were as high as ever so of course we walked away.

Ended up finding a like new but used 2008 Palomino Gazelle G-210 with an Equalizer hitch for $10K from a private seller.  Needless to say, it's now in our driveway.
