Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi from Key Largo, Florida

Hi everyone, we are Frank and Miriam. We live in Key Largo, Florida and love it here, but look forward to visiting other places in the US and maybe the world. We have 3 children (22, 21, and 18). One is married, the other one is in the Navy and the baby is just starting college (and living at home). Our goal is to get on the road within the next 3 years (or sooner). We are no where near retirement age, so having an income while on the road is VERY important to us. We have just started working on creating various avenues to do just that. We've read about workamping and that may be a possibility, but we want the bulk of our income to be through our own home/rv-based business. We are both realtors and mortgage brokers. I have my 215 life, health and annuities license in the state of Florida. And I am a Florida certified elementary education teacher. Hubby is getting his boating captain's license and CDL in the near future. He's also thinking of getting certified as an RV mechanic (but we need to research that more). If anyone has any ideas we are definitely open to all. I look forward to learning more about the fulltime RV lifestyle, as it's been a dream of ours since we got married 22 years ago.

Hi there Frank & Miriam.  Welcome to the family!  We're fairly new to the forum and, like many others, have our house for sale and will go fulltime as soon as a buyer comes along.  We spend the winters down the road from you at the south end of the 7-Mile Bridge at Sunshine Key RV Resort.  We stay 4-6 months and love it there.  We both love to fish and are out in either the Gulf or the Atlantic every day the weather allows it.  We'll be down there mid-November through April this winter.  If you'd like to come visit and meet some of the great people who love rving (many are snowbirds and some are fulltimers), just leave a message on my profile page.  Good luck to you in your dream.  Be sure and read Howard & Linda's journal, plus lots of others, and you'll pick up all kinds of information.  Nice to have you here!!

Please stay active here and if you have questions feel free to fire away. Many fulltimers here with many years of experiance. Welcome to the forum. We love the Keys, and stay  south of you at Key Colony Beach. Not any longer however as condo days there...... are over, and we  will be  staying in our motorhome instead.
Sounds like you are doing your research and this is a great place to  learn as  everyone is very helpful.
We did the same, and with lot's of inspiration and sound advice from Linda,  Howard, and the forum family ....we bought the motorhome and are not quite fulltime as yet, but hopefully soon.
Wishing you happy planning.

Welcome Frank and Miriam!

We camped not far from you in John Pennekamp State Park a couple of years ago and took the boat ride out to the reef.  That was fun and would like to do it again, but right now we don't have an RV!

We live in Naples, FL and hope to sell our condo to go full-time with a new 5th wheel and truck.  Hey, since you guys are Realtors maybe you have some ideas for us on selling our condo!  wink  We don't have it on the market due to the depressed prices right now.  We're hoping things change soon so we can sell it this coming tourist season.  Any ideas?  PM me if you are interested.

If you haven't already, I would suggest you read all of Howard and Linda's journal and their website.  You can learn a lot from these two who have inspired so many of us to follow our "RV Dream".  Best wishes with your plans!

Bill

Thanks to all for such a warm welcome!! We look forward to continue to keep in touch with everyone and LEARN as much as we can about RVing. It's nice to see so many of you enjoying this beautiful state. Please give us a howler if you're down this way, so we can meet and visit. The Florida Keys are a wonderful place to visit during the Winter months. The weather is absolutely beautiful. The water is a bit cold for me, but I'm from here so I don't go in until it's 80 degrees (minimum).... LoL!!! Anyways, I've started my blog to keep sort of like a diary of my adventure to RVing and beyond. It's at www.genxrv.blogspot.com.....  I'm learning about blogging as well, so it's still in it's infancy... LoL!!!
