Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Natchez Trace Parkway

Thanks to everyone for the wonderful sharing of information on the posts.
Have any of you driven the Natchez Trace Parkway in your RV's?  We have a 40 ft. motorhome, towing a Jeep....so, almost 60 ft. long and a height clearance requirement of 13' 1".  Thank you for any first-hand experiences.  The Natchez Trace website states it IS RV-friendly; but, there's nothing like hearing from travelers themselves who understand the unique differences in RV travel vs. a car.

We drove the "Trace" from Natchez up to Tupelo last spring. We had no problems at all with our 40' MH pulling a small pick-up truck. I don't remember any low clearances along the route, but call the Trace NP phone # and inquire if you are concerned.

The road good, but is not real wide. The width really doesn't matter though because the speed limit is 45 to 50 MPH. There is no commercial traffic allowed on the Trace, so you will not have to deal with trucks or heavy traffic. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery and the pull-offs along the way.

We liked the Mississippi State Parks near Natchez and Tupelo, but then, in general, we like State or COE parks the best. smile

Last fall we drove the Trace in Tennessee and Alabama and had no clearance problems with out 38' 5th wheel. All overpasses were high enough.

This is good information. We are planning to be traveling the entire Natchez Trace Parkway in a couple of weeks beginning in Natchez and working our way to Nashville. We will take a couple of weeks with sightseeing trips to Vicksburg National Battlefield, Jackson, and Tupelo. We want to do some biking, hiking, and canoeing along the way. Currently we are planning to stay at about five different campgrounds as we make the trip (Rocky Springs, Busby, and Meriwether Lewis being three of them). Anywhoo, to the best of our knowledge there are no commercial vechicles, overpasses, or stop lights (signs) on the Parkway and the speed limit is strickly enforced. Happy Travels.

Thank you all for the input. Sounds like we can navigate it just fine then with a MH & tow.
