Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Moving Day Dinner Tradition

We can't tell you how happy we are that many in the RV-Dreams Family are meeting each other and spending time together.  With the Forum and the Chat Room and the Buddy Map and so many folks with blogs, contacts are being made all over the place.  That's so cool!!!!   biggrin

One thing Doug & JoAnn (http://www.mytripjournal.com/ourdream) recently wrote about was providing dinner to others on travel days.  Linda has a rule that she doesn't cook on travel days, so she likes to plan to have leftovers or we go out.  Knowing this, Doug & JoAnn invited us for dinner on a travel day when they knew we were coming into their campground.  Later we returned the favor.

And long before that, we were invited to dinner by complete strangers on a travel day.  Larry & Connie, back in 2005 in Florida, invited us to join them on the spur of the moment on a day we pulled into their RV park.  We can't tell you how appreciative we were.  smile

So Doug & JoAnn have decided that the Moving Day Dinner is a great tradition to carry on and did so recently for some RV-Dreamers.  I thought I would just pass it along as the Moving Day Dinner is a great idea, a welcome act of kindness, and it might just catch on.  biggrin

We have a friends that we meet up with frequently at different times of the year. Any more, it's almost presumed that whoever is at the CG, or gets there first, makes the evening meal. It may be just hamburgers or hot dogs on the grill, but it is sure nice to know that after a day of travel, you don't have to worry about fixing something to eat. 

This is something we just started so the late arrivals didn't have to cook. It's worked out great for us.

We do that, too!! We started it a couple of years ago when friends were coming to our "home" campground (at the time) to do some sightseeing. I didn't think much of it, but offered to have them for dinner since they were traveling. Well, they did that for us the next time we traveled to them. And recently, when we arrived at Rainbow Plantation in AL, our neighbors told us to come by for dinner when we got settled.

It's a great tradition!! We love this life!!
