Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My heart goes out to everyone in, near or with family/friends in, near the wildfires in CA. The news is just staggering....the destruction & devastation is heartrending. One of the blogs I read is written by two camp hosts who are in the area. They are making preparations in case of evacuation. Then some RVing riding friends post in the SKP forum about just barely making it out...and will probably lose both their motorcycles. The weather isn't forecast to change till maybe Wednesday, not a good thing.
Froggi, I agree, I think we should keep these folks in our prayers. The fires are doing massive destruction to the environment but it is also taking homes from many people. What really is sad is that many of these people may never be able to have a home again. It is sad!
We are camp hosts at Doheny State Beach campground in Dana Point, Ca. Many fires in the area but close to the beach so we are fine. Our daughter is on voluntary evacuation in Encinitas so may be here before long. Our campground has been opened to evacuees so if anyone is in the area and needs a place in a campground, give me a call and I'll see what I can do. Actually we are filling up quickly and may even be full at this time. I haven't checked what sites are already reserved. Brenda 502-417-5650

This quote in a CBS news report is staggering in its implications:
"Fully a quarter of the California coast was ablaze. Flames climbed halfway toward the Nevada line, chewing through chunks of seven counties and devastating numerous communities."
