Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Yup, I put down a deposit on a motorhome today. I hope to be able to get it within the next week to 10 days. I'm so excited!!
It's a 1999 Fleetwood Tioga, 26', has the Ford V-10 Triton engine and is on the Ford F-450 chassis which gives me over 2800# of carry capacity and 5000# of tow capacity. It has new Pergo floors, new tires and batteries, hydraulic levelers, ducted air, generator, backup camera, two awnings, and about 57k miles on it.
Now I get to sell my car, call Enterprise and drive down to pick it up. I will spend a couple days in a neighboring campground and they will fix anything that comes up during that first outing.
Great to hear you found an RV!! Sounds nice, and it should work real well for you. Looks really nice too.
Another big step taken.
LOL
Jim

Congratulations Froggi! It looks great, like new so it must have been well taken care of by the previous owner. Get it checked out completely, including the engine, trans, brakes, etc so you won't have any surprises.
Congrats to you. After the story of the last one you looked at good to hear that you found this one. Probably just like when we bought our MH, when you go in and see it you just know its right and for you. Hope to see you on the road sometime and my your travels be uneventful.
Congrats Froggi!! I am sooooo jealous!! I am actually typing this before I head to W.O.R.K...oh well...just a few more years! LOL. Your motorhome looks great, and I hope that you really enjoy it.Congrats again! Happy Traveling.
Congratulations Froggi! I happen to just notice this thread. I'm glad I checked it out. Nice looking unit. Looks new! I wish you all the best, and now you can drive your MH to the rally in September. Good for you! Take care and hope to meet you one day. Allison
Thanks again everyone...the reality is now setting in and I'm looking at all the STUFF still here in the house. YIKES!! Sept is going to be a busy month, especially since I'm taking the week out (plus travel there & back) for the Escapade! But it will get done....my only deadline after Sept is to get to SD for my drivers license before Nov 24th or when the snow flies (whichever comes first. <g>
How exciting! We are so happy for you. We wish you safe journeys and hope to meet up with you out on the road once we are able to get out there ourselves.
CONGRATS!!!! We are so happy for you! The motorhome looks terrific and so well cared for. It is simply perfect. You will have so much fun. We just can't wait to see you on the road!
Froggi, It is beautiful. I think you have found the perfect match. Were you in time to get a site at Goshen? Look forward to seeing you--and getting a grand tour of the pad--when we meet there.
Thanks once again, everyone, for all the compliments on my Lily Pad and the good wishes. <g>
Scott, I am signed up for the Escapade but still waiting to hear back from Stephanie if the RVSEF Safe Driver Class still has openings. If so, then I will arrive on Saturday...if not then Sunday.
Hey Girlfriend, way to go! I am happy for you that you found your new home. I too willl spend the month of September sorting, packing, and tossing. Hope to be out of here before the snow flies!
Way to go! Happy you've found the one for you. Good site, it gave a good picture of your new pad. It will be interesting to hear of your travels and learning experiences. Enjoy, and Best Wishes. Bago.

Well, moving forward.....sold the car back to the Toyota dealership today. I hope to head towards Florida tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning at the latest. Downside, I had planned to camp in the Ocala area, close to the dealer, to see if I had any problems. Forgot this is Labor Day weekend....I'll be lucky to get site anywhere. LOL!
Strange to realize that my only means of transportation once the RV is here will be the motorcycle.....unless I want to take the Lily Pad to Wally World.

Sounds like things are moving fast now!
Does the dealer have hookups? Maybe he would let you stay there so you can work all the systems and be right there when they open up to fix anything. May not be the best "campground", but as I always say "any port in a storm"!
I would sure try to get to a Ford Dealer or a trusted mechanic to check out the engine, trans, brakes, etc.

Froggi, I am settled in at site B-3 at the Goshen fairgrounds for the Goshen HOP and the fall Escapade. Will you be bringing the Lilly Pad? In general if anybody out there on the SOLO (or any RV-Dreams forum) thread is attending the Goshen Escapade stop by and say Hi. Scott
Hey Scott, Yes, I will be bringing The Lily Pad. She's coming back home in the next hour or two after getting the "Service Engine Soon" light checked out (was nothing, phew!).
I still have a lot of packing up to do so it may end up being Sunday night before I get there. Things are complicated due to my daughter & son-in-law arriving here on the 16th (while I'm in Goshen) to pick up my living & bedroom furniture as well as whatever I have been able to pack for storage.
So I've been busy trying to pack up stuff for storage while the RV is at the repair shop and now have tonight & tomorrow to load it. It's a good two full days of driving from here to there...
If nothing else, we'll meet at the SOLO pizza party for sure!!
