Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
So here we are in beautiful GREEN Pennsylvania, our birthplace and we hate it. Since moving to New Mexico 12 years ago we have become acustomed to sunny skies and dry climate. We are here visiting family and friends and rented a FHU site at Treasure Lake in DuBois, Pa. We planned to stay here a month but if we were not paid up for the month I think I woud leave tomorrow and head out of the woods. Our site is shaded, it's shaded alright, and damp. Since we came here about 3 weeks ago I think it rained almost every day. About the time our site started to dry out it rained again. Today was warm with no rain but it was so humid it felt like I was rained on if I did anything energenic. All the locals say they really need the rain that the entire year has been in a drought but since I came all it has done was rain. I quess I brought the rain. I think we will leave Treasure Lake early and go stay in my brothers drive way till the family reunion. After that we will be returning to our BEAUTIFUL New Mexico and the bright blue skies. Sorry for the long post, I got carried away thinking about NM. Bob, Judy, and our 2blackdogs
Sorry you're not having a good stay in Pennsylvania. I'll bet that it's real nice there when it's not raining all the time.
Isn't RVing great! We can just pack up and go someplace else if we don't like it where we are!
Hope you have better weather on your return to NM.

Well, we finally have nice weather here in Pennsylvania. It's been so nice I decided to wash all the tree sap off my F550 today. I got it shined up real good and I have it parked in an empty site next to ours that is not directly under the trees. This place might fill up this weekend and then back under the trees it will go. My plans for Labor Day will be laboring to get the tree sap off my new Elite Suites. I was up on the roof and it is just covered with the stuff. I will start on the top and just work my way down. From now on I will not get a site in the woods. Bob, Judy and our 2blackdogs
We are under the trees as I type this post. Here in Texas you have to find shade or melt. We wont be able to afford our 2nd air until next summer so the trees have saved us from burning up. I can imagin that being under the trees with all that rain could be messy but sometimes you have to take a little bad with the good. Hope you dry out soon.
We are headed up near DuBois this Friday. We have a cabin in Driftwood, PA. Needs a new tin roof. So, here we come with our Fiver to camp over in Sinnamahonig (I killed the spelling I know!) while working on repairs. I love that area. We expect good weather for the weekend.
They say rain on Thursday but the rest of the time will be nice. Driftwood...home of Tom Mix. Hope your repairs go fast and easy so you can enjoy some of the weekend. Bob
Bob and Judy! Absolutely! We own the old one room schoolhouse he went to. Our cabin is about 1/4 mile from his homestead and about the same distance from the Mix family cemetery. Mix Run runs in front of us. The homestead used to be a nice little park when they had the Round Ups each year. Now, overgrown and neglected. Not many people still alive who even know who Tom Mix was.
Yup, it is closed. If you come down the hill to the museum and make a left, you drive along the river. We are the last cabin (it's red and looks like it was a school) before you go back up on the road crossing the railroad tracks. If you are in the area over the weekend, stop by. If during the day Leonard and probably me will be there. All weekend will be someone as my brother and sister in law are staying there. We are at Geist CG in Sinnamahoning. My daughter, husband and baby are staying in the Willows Motel across from the CG.
We get into town late Friday and will be leaving Monday. But most of the Sat and Sun will be work days. EXCEPT we plan on heading over to Clearfield to Dennys Bar & Resturant (not the chain Dennys) Sunday night. Ever been there? What a menu!
