Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We also have a Splendide vented unit in our motorhome, but I have not used it as yet as we just bought the MH. I have not read anywhere which laundry detergent is best to use with it. Any suggestions? Thanks Arlene

Although I dont have a Splendie washer/dryer I have a Sears Kenmore I still use my detergent that I used at home Tide along with a small amount of Calagon water softner. southwestjudy & Bob & 2blackdog
Look for the "HE" label on your detergent. HE (High Efficiency) detergents are made for low water volume washers like front loaders (the detergent uses different surfactants than regular detergents due to the low water volumes) and also are low sudsing - both very necessary requirements for front loaders. The simple analogy is that you wouldn't use dish soap in your dishwasher for very much the same reasons you shouldn't use regular detergent in your front loader.
We have a Splendide in our Endeavor and I might be doing this all wrong but I have been using regular detergent marked for front loaders. It doesn't seem to suds quite as much as the others. Splendide does make a detergent that you can purchase through Camping World but I have never used it.
happy... Sounds like you are doing it all RIGHT! You say you are using ""regular detergent marked for front loaders"" hence, you will probably find a small label on the detergent container that says "HE" and looks like this
The image above is the "HE" symbol you are looking for. All brands of detergent make an HE version so nothing special about that, just look for the HE label on **your favorite** detergent and you are ready to go.
Hey....... Thanks guys. I will go shopping for some tomorrow as we will go out on our maiden voyage Friday for the weekend in the new MH. We're excited. I want to try everything....so that is why I wanted to know about soap powder. Your help and info is always so great, and so appreciated. Thanks again. Arlene

Hey Dude...(Jeff) We just got home. Had our first weekend away in the MH. Had to get on here and tell ya ...I did a load of laundry with Tide Liquid (HE) you told me about. Larry came into the MH, and said "what on earth are you doing?" Hee hee I was actually watching laundry being washed in the Splendide !! Hey...it was a first, and I wanted to see how it worked. I never got excited about laundry before, but even that in the MH was fun. We hated to come home, but our company is here, and I'm sure the story of me sitting watching laundry go around in the machine will come up ...hmmm by my spouse of course. Well just wanted to say thanks out there for a clean wash and no problems. See ya Arlene
