Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Sprint / Nextel

We have had Nextel (now Sprint) for years here in the northeast.  Only had problem in Maine getting reception.  Do any of you have them for your cell phone service?  We go fulltime in 17 months.  Contract expires in about 12 months.  Looking at options.  We like the Direct connect option.

Feedback appreciate.

most of our family, and relitives uses Verizon, so we all can call each other anytime without worring about charges.

This (not coverage) was the main reason we chose Verizon.

We have Nextel/Sprint as well, and we too like the direct connect feature. However, we are switching to Verizon in a couple months when our contract is up because of the wider coverage that Verizon has.

We use Cingular/AT&T because most of our family uses it. It seems that most Full-timers use either Verizon or Cingular because they seem to have the best coverage throughout the US.

None of the carriers have coverage everywhere, and there are areas in the US where there is no cell coverage at all. (Out in the middle of Montana for instance, where we were broken down along US 2.)biggrin

Remember that Verizon moves to Alltel when they don't have coverage.

phonecall.gifWe use Verizon for a varied amount of reasons.  Probably has some of the best coverage(all though we don't have coverage where we are now in the "White Mountains" of NH) of all of the cell companies.  Like the fact that when calling another Verizon customer it is free call and no minutes.  Thought to ponder:confuse.gif How did we surive 15 years ago without cell phones.
Be safe and have happy travels.  smilesmilesmile

Jon and Kathleen - guess we are glad we do have Sprint right now. We were in the White Mountains in June for a week and for the most part had service. Love that area when without the Old Man of the Mountain!

We will really consider all options in another year.

We've been fulltiming for 10 years now and still haven't found but one that'll give us full coverage and that is "tracphone" I guess they use everybody's tower. Where we're at now tracphone is the only one that'll work of the big four.
