Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have always liked the idea of "freelance" church attendance. That is one of the things that make America great. . .freedom of religion. If I go to a baptist church next week, so be it. Methodist the week after next. . .so be it. Great way to experience many things, and meet many new people. Easter and Christmas have always been spent at the church of my childhood, but fulltiming will change this.
For about thirty years, I have carried the motto "try anything once, twice if you like it"

We consider ourselves to be calico Christians, we worship wherever we find spiritual life. When we get to an area we look at the yellow pages, a couple of things we enjoy are contemporary Christian music and early services. We also inquire around the campground to see where others are attending and what they like about their church. Sometimes we just have to attend a church without knowing anything about them, but have always found that congregations are friendly and try their best to make visitors feel comfortable. We will go to any denomination knowing that there are pockets of "deep" faith in every church. If we are going to be in an area for awhile we may attend several different churches. It's really amazing how the Lord works in the life of the believer through various ministeries. Like my high school math teacher used to say, "Keep an open mind, something just might drop in." So we try to do that. sometimes better than others.

Ditto to everything Darrell and Judy said !!!! It's the unity of Christians being together that is the important part. We have really enjoyed visiting different churches and different worship services. God is everywhere !!!

I agree, God leads us to where we need to be. Ethel and I have been in Maine for two months plus. For the the past four weeks plus, we have been a part of a great congregation in a beautiful location.
We attended a concert of a grammy award winning, Christian ladies' quartet - Point of Grace. It was wonderful. The concert was held in a beautiful outdoor pavilion in Old Orchard Beach which is part of a campus belonging to the Salvation Army. After the concert, we began attending their services on Sundays, met wonderful people, some of whom were RVers.
Years ago, I had served on the advisory board for a Salvation Army center for six years, the last two as chairman. I was familiar with the organization and its worship services.
This has been a wonderful experience, and we shall be in attendance when we workkamp here for four months next year.
The Salvation Army to most is a ringing of bells at Christmas kettles. They have wonderful worship services open to all. Oh, we are members of a Methodist Church in FL. God attends all services everywhere!
Charles

Hi, like Judy & Bob we use the internet to look up churches in the area. Any Bible believing church is good for us & we like to change each week if we are in an area for awhile. During our stay in Custer we were blessed with an out of state guest preacher who gave a wonderful message that we really needed to hear! All in God's plan I am sure. We also ask the locals about their favorites. Every church we have attended in the past 14 months on the road has welcomed us. They seem to enjoy hearing about our RV'ing lifestyle & we have been blessed to meet some wonderful folks. We love the old brick churches with all the beautiful stained glass. And the music & singing as well. And of course a good preacher never hurts!
