Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Where are all you SOLO RVers hanging out right now?

I started a topic similar to this in rv.net and received many responses.  Since we're all Soloing, I'm just curious on where (city/state) all the solos RVers are hanging out right now and what type of place (State Park, RV Park, Boondocking)?  I'm in Huachuca City, Arizona (southeast region of AZ) at a RV Park, and have been here for 3 weeks now, and will be stationary until the Quartzsite Show in January, when I'll start traveling again.  Of course anyone may post here regardless if you're solo-ing but just indicate that you're not a solo so I can get a feel for the numbers.  I'm just curious how many solos we have here that are out there RVing and where they're at right now and where they might be going.  I'll be patiently awaiting your responses!  biggrin Allison

Hi SKOOBOO,
I am soloing. I have been doing a road-trip with my brother for the last two and a half weeks while my rig is in the shop for some body work. We traveled by car and stayed in hotels from south Texas to northern New York and back.
I will be picking up my rig over by Independence, MO tomorrow and plan on settling in for several weeks at the West St. Loius KOA in Eureka, MO. Once in place I will renew my energies and review my options for my next move. My only current commitments are: 1) meet my brother and his kids for Christmas at a resort in Branson, MO and 2) attend the RV-Dreams rally in Branson next June. I may try to arrange to spend Thanksgiving with my brother's ex-wife and their kids up in Prospect, OH. I suppose for the Thanksgiving and Christmas visits I'll plant the rig somewhere further south and travel via toad.
Scott
P.S. I used to visit my late father in Pheonix/Scotsdale during the summer. I swear that Arizona would make Lawrence of Arabia think twice. Aren't you a tad uncomfortable?

Hello Scott!  Thank you for responding.  Sounds like you have a lot of traveling to do in the upcoming months.  Actually, since I've been in Huachuca City, the temparture has been in the high 80s and low 90s, and mostly in the 70s and 80s.  Check out the weather here one www.weather.com and you will be surprised too.  Phoenix is not elevated enough to ever be cool in the summer so its not a place I have any desire to go to smile.gif  Next time you travel to AZ check out Cochise County (a lot cooler).  It feels cooler here than in central Ohio where I lived and worked before.  I can't deal with all that humidity up in Ohio and all the bugs smile.gif  Have fun on your trips!!!!

Hey Allison, I moved to Florida last November 1st from Cleveland Ohio. The humidity here in St. Petersburg is worse than there, 70% and higher. hmm.gif I'm really looking forward to winter!! I'm 47 and not retired, have always been single so no children. I've been wanting to full time since about 2000, so when I moved to this climate I decided to buy a MH and live full time even while still working, and I like it alot. I'm currently looking for something that will allow me to work and travel, or at least travel some. By the way nice rig/set up you have! I looked at the Montana's at the rv show last January. How do you like yours?  I'm planning to attend the Rv dreams rally in June, it should be an interesting and good time! biggrin.gif   Looking forward to meeting all the freinds I haven't met yet!smile.gif

Hello Bago, so you're a former Buckeye too? smile.gif  I lived in my 5th Wheel the last year of working and I enjoyed it a lot too!  One thing for sure the folks at the campground were a lot more friendly than the homeowners in my neighborhood. The only time I seen them were when they were coming home from work and pull up to the garage, push a button and disappear smile.gif  You can't get impromtu potlucks and entertainment in a suburban neighborhood.  I won't be attending the rally unforturnately, but maybe one day we'll pass each other along the way.  Have fun at the rally!

Hi everybody,

I'm still hanging out in Eureka, MO but have made arrangements to head up to Elkhart, IN September 4th then over to the Goshen fairgrounds on the 6th for the Escapees' HOP followed by the Fall Escapade.

Who out there plans to attend? If so I suspect that you can locate me through either the SOLO BOF or the BOOMERS BOF or just look for a big brown Travel Supreme diesel pusher with Montana license plates that read SERNITY or a bright red Chey Colorado four-door truck with Texas plates that read FIRFLY.
