Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

selling a manufactured home

Hi!  I wonder if any one is in this situation.  We have a wonderful place - 1 acre in an upscaled neighborhood (for this area) with the one and only manufactured home.  It is very nice with a double garage attached, sets on a foundation and nice concrete work all around.  Right now the home is 10 years old and when we want to sell it in 5 years it will be 15 years old.  Everything around us is appreciating very fast and homes being built behind us are starting at $193,000.  I am afraid we won't be able to sell it even tho we have kept it up and all of the other pluses.  We live in a small town in central Washington.   Any thoughts.

That should be easy to find out Putput. Simply call a realter and tell them you're thinking of selling your home, but would like to get some advice on pricing it.

Depending what value they give you, you'll know if it's appreciating or not.

Think positively, - you bought it, why wouldn't someone else want it?

Good luck,
Fred

You have done the right thing by keeping it up. Don't stop improving it. Sounds like your surroundings will keep the value of your property up there. Like Fred said someone will buy it. By keeping it up you should have a good nest egg when it sales!

Well there are "manufactured homes" with a good connotation and "manufactured homes" with a bad connotation.  I'll assume from you post that yours is a good one and "fits in" within the neighborhood.  smile

If so, you'll be fine.  The worst thing is to be the highest priced house in an upscale neighborhood.  So if you come in mid-range or lower, you should be okay.  Sounds like there is demand in your area, and my guess is folks won't give a second thought to the "manufactured" aspect (until the realtor starts negotiating price).  smile

If you do have trouble, email us and we'll be happy to offer specific advice based on your particular situation.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I called my ex-neighbor who is a realtor and she gave us very good info and found out we have a lot more value in our home right now than we would have thought possible. Boy do I feel good!
