Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Welcome to RV-Dreams forum...that is an awesome site and forum and the people here are incredibly friendly and helpful. Howard and Linda have done a great job here.
Sounds like we are on the same schedule...my wife Debi and I are also going to be retiring in just under three years, and then plan to embark on our full time RVing journey. We are from Massachusetts, but when we retire, we plan to sell our home, buy a fifth wheel and diesel dually, and just travel this great country of ours. We are seriously thinking of making Texas our home base State.
We can't wait......again welcome aboard......

Hi Joe & Sherrilyn -- Welcome to the RV-Dreams community! My husband, Jim, and I just became Texans via the Escapees. He is actually a real Texan, but he's been in Colorado for the past 27 years.
We are fulltiming now but currently parked next to our house. It will be listed for sale right around the first of May at which time we'll be heading down to Texas to visit relatives in Amarillo and Arlington. While we're in Arlington we'll be looking for an apartment for his mom.
Both of us retired last year. We made the decision to sell the house and go full time last summer. After spending the winter in Arizona, we came back to Colorado Springs in March and we just about have the house empty.
I see that Wills Point is not to far from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Are there any notable RV parks near you? We've stayed at Treetops RV Village in Arlington which is pretty convenient, but we're always looking for good places to stay.
Sherrilyn and I are full timing in Coppell Texas now. We have a home on Lake Tawakoni, which is outside of Will Point. Sherrilyn and I built this house ourselves. I was in the contracting business for years and we have experience at building houses. We only lack about a month till completion and then it will go on the market. We decided about 35 years ago that we were going to be full timers. We have had every conceivable camper that you can think of. Our love for the road started in Colorado in the early 70 when we pulled a pop up tent camper with a 1972 Vega to Woodland park. I shiver thinking about us doing that now.
I still work here in Dallas and the move here to Coppell was due to the high gas prices. Believe it or not I can live here cheaper than in the house which is paid for. We stay at Sandy Lake RV resort just north of downtown Dallas. It is located between Carrollton and Coppell TX. It is a nice quite park and puts us close to my work and shopping. We are familiar with Tree Top and we started to stay there but Sandy Lake is so much closer.
Thanks for dropping us a line. We plan on spending much of our retirement days in Arizona. I am sure that our paths will cross if we stay in touch here. I agree this is a great Web Page for information and contacts.
I hope to be in my new fiver next week! We have waited a good while for more room and I belive it will happen soon.
Good luck with the sale of your home. You will have to get in touch with my wife and let her know how to turn loose of all the keepsakes. HA
Hi Joe and Sherrilyn, We too are awaiting our time to fulltime. I like going to Dallas everyother month or so and noticed you are staying at a park we have not tried. Do they have a website?
Welcome to the forum. Don and Cheryl Catoe

Yes, you will find them sandylrv@nationwide.net. We have been here for about 6 months now. It would not be the fanciest of places we have stayed, but it sure is convenient to stores and work. If you are planning on staying a weekend and want to be close to Downtown area this is the place to be. We like it because it is quite and not too many children running around. Hope this helps.
