Boondocking or camping in the Rochester NY
(Preview)
Looking for some good boondocking or camping near Rochester NY for a 40ft motorhome. We are going to spend a couple days in the area to attend a wedding at the end of September. We just need a place to sleep, not much time for anything else. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Tesla's new "PowerWall"
(Preview)
Any techies want to chime in on Elon Musk's new PowerWall. Here's some specs, obviously it won't fit into some existing battery compartments, but that is not an insurmountable obstacle. No word on the weight of the battery. I don't know how that would all convert to amp-hours for RV use. Energy: 7kW...

Preferring to Boondock than staying in organized CG's for the most part, we are wondering how effective and useful anyone who's made use on a maybe regular basis versus just a one off of Boondockers Welcome. Doubling smaller wire to increase the ampacity
(Preview)
Greetings all. I know it isn't ideal, but I wanted to ask your thoughts regarding doubling DC power cables to increase the ampacity. This would only be used for my battery jumpers. I currently run 2/0 ga for all my battery runs but am upgrading from 2 x 6V to 4 x 6V. Seeing as how I already have some from anot...

Battery bank for boondocking

It's been some time since I was on the forum and we are in AZ for the winter. Since there are numerous areas to boondock and campgrounds that you can park an RV at but they don't have any hook ups I wanted to know more about batteries. My wife is not real keen on the idea of boondocking so I don't plan on do it a lo...

Daily Electric Usage When Boondocking

I'm curious as to how much electric folks are using when boondocking. Reason for asking, Karen and I are planning to head out FT in 2015 and hope to do some boondocking.
