Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Good Sam insurance

Has anyone had any experience with the Good Sam RV insurance?  They keep sending me letters, so I called and the insurance would be $500 less than I am paying now, for more insurance.  Are they a good company?  Thanks.

Rather than say something bad about them........just google complaints.....it would answer your question on why they are 500 dollars cheaper than the rest.....yet in the end when your done opening your wallet for everything they said they would cover you find out they are 30 x expensive as the rest!!

Speaking about insurance. We just signed the papers for our fifth wheel and will be going full time in 16 months. Now I need insurance. Any recommendations about a good company?

 Definitely shop around.  I also suggest you check with Miller Insurance out of Oregon.  We've insured our fifth wheel and tow vehicle with them, as well as our second vehicle.  They are a broker for more than one insurance company, so they can compare rates with different ones, and they are familiar with full-timer's needs.

In Canada, there are insurance brokers and they are my best way to get the insurance deal. They call different Insurance Cies and they will give you the best price and coverage for your money.

I don't know if that service is in the States.

We have the rig through Progressive via their partnership with USAA. Our old F450 was with USAA…best service of any insurance company we ever had…but they don't cover 5500's so that one is through Miller Insurance out in Oregon to National Interstate. Both Miller and the Yust's (C&C Insurance or something like that) specialize in insurance for RVs.

Shop around is good as well…but remember to google complaints and compare both policy limits and restrictions as well as prices, service, and complaint records.

Miller is probably one of the best RV brokers you can deal with.   Miller Insurance Agency  They actually know about RV's and insurance and most agents who do auto and home don't.  Recommend you speak with Marlene Bounds.

We've had outstanding response from Progressive via Miller.  They (Miller) have access to some RV products not all agents can offer.  (Ask me how I know this.)
