Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Ours is too thin and cheap and it squeaks (we probably could lose some weight). Is this something you can just replace at Walmart or Lowe's? Is it a standard size? Our is an elongated model. What I'd really like is a heated one for those cold mornings before we leave or are just arriving back in Ontario!
We changed our toilet seat with one we brought from our stick house. The rubber bumpers had to be moved to align with the smaller rim of the RV toilet, but no big deal. You should be able to find a replacement seat easily.
The heated seat may be more of a problem. I don't know of any RV's that have a source of electricity in the toilet room.
They basically come in the 2 sexes (use some imagination) but the spacing of the bolts in the back are a standard. You may have to move the bumpers on the bottom of the seat like Fred said and I would suggest adding some. All but the most expensive seats come with bumpers in the back to relieve stress on the hinges and one on each side about 2/3 of the way out. The more expensive seats will mave additional bumpers for support. Addtional bumpers can be purchased and either glued on, (JB Weld quick set epoxy works great) or you can drill some holes to align with the new bumpers. I have seen bumpers than have captive nails to secure them. I personally don't like putting holes in the thing as they just weaken it more. Be sure to align the bumpers with the edges of the toilet bowl.
I believe Wal-Mart would have some but I prefer either Lowe's or Home Depot as a source. They will have a wider selection.
Just remember it is your unit and you can do what you want so don't limit your creativity. You just might have a better idea.

We replaced our seat which is elongated with one we bought at Walmart (under 25.00 dollars). Took the measurements and found what we needed. The seat actually will drop very slowly on it's own which is nice if you need to use it in the wee hours of the morning.
