Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Santa Fe, New Mexico

Planning a trip to Sante Fe this summer.  Any recommendations on campgrounds in the area?  Somewhere you've stayed and would stay again?

Beth

We were there last June,  just ask my DW were we stayed and she don't remember either.  I wouldn't want to go in the winter,  but in June it was very nice.   Will probably be out there next year sometime during the summer months....Have fun...GBY...

We have stayed at Santa Fe Skies, which is a bit SW of the city but overlooks it.   We liked it.

Since I have lived for 10 yrs 45 minutes from Santa Fe, I would suggest many of the lakes in the area. Northern New Mexico in the summer months are great!  However, we love Tetilla pk recreation area, it has electric and water and a dump station. The scenery there is some of the best, mountains, lake, sailboats....it is run by the corp of engineers. Cochiti Lake is the same lake only on the other side where the town of Cochiti is.  There is also camping there.  Tetilla Peak  is 20 min. from Santa Fe.

It depends on what you are planning to do in Santa Fe.  If doing the museums and enjoying the city culture then there are a couple of RV parks right in the city on Cerrillos that are acceptable but not "camping."  Just northeast toward the ski area there are state and private campgrounds which will probably take a reservation by late June.  Two nice RV parks about 20 minutes out east on I-25N.  One is a KOA and the other is ?.  We have used these when at conferences during April for a week at a time.   The others already mentioned are nice too.  Don't hurry by if you like to shop, go to museums, eat mexican food (actually eat out), visit pueblos, do casino's, or just watch the people.  There are enough day trips from Santa Fe to Taos, Los Alamos, Bandelier National monument etc to keep you busy for a couple of weeks if you like that kind of thing.

Whatever you choose, have fun in Santa Fe.  We always do.  We bought our first fifth wheel on our way to Santa Fe during a stop to just look in Albuquerque.
