Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm Steve and my wife is Karen. We currently live in Stafford, VA. We've followed the RV-Dreams site for quite awhile now and love hearing the experiences both of the Paynes and from fellow RVers. We've been RVing since 1991, first in a 19' foot trailer. Within a year we went to a 27' trailer. By 1994 we had again purchased a new rig (boy, you can tell we were newbies!) This time, a 32' Jayco fifth wheel. We loved that rig, but eventually got rid of it after replacing too many slideout seals.
In 2004 we purchased our current truck and our Arctic Fox 30' fifth wheel. We love this rig, but hope to go fulltime within 2 years. We are certain that we will be buying again for a more "fulltime" rig, and of course that means a more substantial truck to pull the rig.
The advice we have learned from attending our first LOW Conference this past August in PA, the forum on RV.net, the Escapees web site, and now here, of course, have been very helpful.
We are lifetime members of the GS Club since 1991 and have recently become lifetime members of the Escapees (as of Oct. 2006).
Karen would enter the fulltime lifestyle tomorrow if possible. I have about 1.5 years until I can retire with full benefits from my job.
Will be following this forum regularly. We invite any and all questions, and may even be able to come up with a few answers from time to time.
