Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are in the looking mode trying to decide the best unit we can afford as well as the layout we want. We have looked in many differant 5th wheels and have not found one that has everything on our list. Some things are easy to add, like generators, bigger fridge ect. My question is,are the manufacturers willing to add other things like differant cabinets, maybe a kitchen island in models that don't have one, extra plug in's, extra batteries and things like that when you place your order? Any experience?
Thanks,
Phil

There are several different manufacturers that are willing to add. Most of them are the higher priced RV's. New Horizon will customize everything. I am sure Teton will as well as the other high end models. Others have written they bought a Carriage Cameo and made changes. If you find a manufacturer that you like, I would call and find out what they would do for you.
These folks will also do customizing. I'm not sure how much but I have read where they will do a fiver to your specs. Anything can be done if the $$$s are there.
Hi, We ordered a Carriage Cameo, and they allowed us to choose many items from their higher end lines to upgrade our Cameo. For instance, we added multiple batteries, 5500 watt generator, independant electric jacks for the front and electric stabilizers for the rear, astro foil additional insulation, convection microwave, and we had them change a number of cabinetry items. It comes with a 2/5 year fulltime warranty. We've been very happy with it so far. Good luck, Fred
We had Forest River do some customizing on our Cedar Creek. Cedar Creek is a well built medium priced unit that has a fairly inclusive options list. They added several outlets for us and we had tv connections added in the basement as well as the bedroom ceiling for plasma tv installation. Didn't ask about extra cabinets, but maybe they would do it.

In June this year I ordered a NuWa Hitchhiker 35CKQG Champagne. We had the interior cabinets modified. My wife liked the carpet from one interior design group and and the remaining interior material from another. NuWa made that change for her. You can get 1,2, or 4 batteries. I have found NuWa was more than willing to work with us.
