Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well another milestone in our lives - Tony and I both retired today!
We have been so excited anticipating this day that it almost feels like a let down - I guess we'll really realize it in a few days time when the alarm clock no longer dictates to us. Actually we thought it would be great to have an "alarm clock blowing up ceremony".
Our plans now include a cruise from Thursday till Oct 11th - back home to our RV here in Tampa for 10 days and then we fly to Europe for 14 days after which we HIT THE ROAD on or about Nov. 14th. We're almost sorry now that we booked these 2 cruises, we are soooo ready to pull "out of Dodge".
Congrats, I know the excitement of just not having to go to work again. It will take awhile to adjust to your new life style, it seems that you keep "pinching yourself" to make sure it's real.
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE "CLOCK". I HAVE BEEN OFF FOR A FEW WEEKS ON SICK LEAVE, AND HAVE BEEN THINKING " SO THIS IS WHAT IT WILL FEEL LIKE COME MAY 2007". DON'T REGRET GOING ON THE CRUISES, JUST ENJOY SEEING THE OTHER SIDE OF THE OCEAN. WE WERE JUST VISITING MY DH AUNT AND UNCLE WHO LIVE IN TARPON SPRINGS.
ENJOY YOUR LIFE ON THE ROAD

Hope to start traveling in 07. I will retire 5/07. We have a Montana 35 ft. 5er & a 3500 Chev.
Thanks everyone for your congrats and good wishes. OMG we woke up at 9 am this morning - this is so unusual for us, we're both early risers. I guess it will take a while for us to establish a new routine. Don & Lois thanks for those words of "don't regret" - we've taken them to heart and are looking forward to flying out of Tampa on Thursday morning for Seattle, where we'll be for 3 days when we board the ship on Sunday.
Enjoy your life and the cruises. We could not face a long cruise until we retired, we needed to "detox" enough to relax and enjoy it. We took a Panama Canal cruise after retirement, 14 days long with only four port stops. It was great.
Unfortunately the rain is back in Seattle, but you should still find it a nice place to visit. It is home base for us and we are camped about 20 miles east right now.

Congrats. Gale will probably have to retire by 1/1/07 but we can't travel until 2008...when 17 yr old graduates. I work in jewelry store and can go when ever he does. But probably will work until boss sells store or daughter retires (boss is 83) Gale & Anna
Congratulations!!! Now you get to Play and really enjoy it!! We are jealous. Every time I hear the number 2011 my heart goes pitter patter. It seems like a long time away. So you can pave the road for us and we will be right there. You should find some interesting things to do in Seattle while you wait for your boat ride. Bonnie
