Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Welcome!

We want to take a moment to welcome you to the RV-Dreams Community Forum!

This Forum was an unexpected addition to the RV-Dreams.com and RV-Dreams Journal websites which we started back in 2005.  We never expected either of those websites to develop the tremendous following they now have.  We never expected the type of support that we have received from the readership, and we have been overwhelmed by the kindness, goodness, and yes, even love, of our website visitors and readers.

It simply became time to connect this wonderful group of people and allow us to share our good fortune of "knowing" them with everyone.

Here, the members share their questions, comments, experience, knowledge, thoughts, and feelings.  With the ability to see how different people answer the same question, it falls right in line with our advice to "Never rely on a single person or single source for information on RVing." It also shows people that they are not alone in the things they want to know.

We will do our best to keep this a safe place where everyone feels comfortable participating and asking any question.  Please let us know if you do not feel comfortable for any reason.

So, with cyber "hugs and handshakes", welcome to the RV-Dreams Community!

Howard & Linda

Thank you Howard and Linda, it is wonderful to have the forum to ask questions and "feel safe".  We are "I donna know nothings" and really appreciate the information here.  Now, to my question that falls in the line with no question is a dumb question, what does that "sticky" mean before the topic?  I've seen it on other forums and I don't know what it means.

Thanks,

Dianne

It took me awhile to figure out the "sticky" thing, too.

If you notice, each time a new topic is started in a forum, that topic appears at the top and all the others get pushed down.  All a "sticky" does is make sure a topic designated as a "sticky" topic by the forum moderater stays at the top at all times no matter what.  That way I can ensure a topic that I want to always be prominent stays in view.  So there you have it.

We are new at this RV world and we get to start next Sunday when we pick up our new 2007 Tiffin Allegro 34TGA FRED in Sacramento California.

My BW Barbara and I are flying there from Edmonton and we are excited and anxious as this is our first little baby RV.
This site is new to me and I hope that we can contribute something as we have used this and others to make our decision to give this RV experience a whirl.

I have'nt even ever driven one before and I know that this forum will sure help answer a ton of questions to isues we will have.

Thank you for being there to help and share

George

Hi Howard and Linda,

Thanks for the warm welcome. We have been tent campers for many years and finally upgraded to a Casita travel trailer last year. We have really enjoyed going to Casita Rallies and dry camping in the national parks. I'm so lucky that my wife and I like the same things. Nature, wildlife, beautiful places, travel, photograhy, just to mention a few.

I am kinda retired, but still doing some contract work on the road. I usually get an apartment, but decided this time to get a fifth wheel to live in away from home and let my per diem pay for it. We just purchased a 2004 Mobile Suites 33RS3.

RV-Dreams has really got us to thinking about full timing. I think that this is my last contract job and I am really going to retire when its finished. We'll be living in our fifth wheel for about 6 months, so this should be a good test to see if we like it.

Thanks again for your good advise, Fred

Awwwww Howard and Linda, it's your generosity in sharing and loving inclusiveness that makes us ALL feel welcome here and at your events, it's great people you attract that support and help each other.

Thank you! We are in the process of getting rid of everything and selling our home which goes on the market April 1, 2016. We have been planning this move for a year. We have read your journals with pure delight and tears! We felt as thou we were reading about our journey. You have a lot of on-the-job training and we hope to learn a great deal from you. Especially, your seminars! We look forward to a happy, long relationship with RV-Dreams.

Hello again Howard and Linda,

Thank you for providing a forum in which to learn and share. I sincerely feel I am in the right place. After having RVed for five years, and previously owning two smaller RVs, I finally got my courage up and purchased a Fleetwood Bounder. This 34-footer is much larger than anything I have ever driven before; so, pardon my fear. I've got until the RV-Dreams Fall Rally to learn to tow my car. In the meantime, I am sure the rally will enable me to feel a lot more confident on the road.

I am a senior female, and will be traveling with my Golden Retriever, Kati-Sweetheart. At this point, I just want to arrive at the rally and return home, safe and sound! In the meantime, Kati and I look forward to meeting you both. Best of care, and thx muchly again!

Hi, I'm Trish!  I am so new to this that I haven't even purchased my RV yet!  I moved from Colorado to Georgia four months ago and I have been tossing around the ideas of either a tiny house on an acre or a pop up camper and a truck.  I have decided on the latter.  I have a bedroom at both of my sons houses while I get on my feet after an unexpected divorce.  Changing my state of residence is a bit confusing since I don't technically live in any one spot now.  I want to do some camp hosting and traveling so here I am!

Oh, and I am trying to download an avatar picture but it keeps coming up sideways.  Any advice on that?

Hi all. Joined the community because I like the Forum. I've been living in A lance 18 foot fifth wheel for about 4 years. Hoping someday I'll pull that plug and start the Dodge truck and get out of here. Currently Gathering parts for the solar set up on the roof. Thankful for my buddy heater a dry trailer and my 2 fur babys. Best to all and a Happy New Year
