Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

RV Parks Around Dallas?

Anyone have any good information on RV parks around the Dallas area? We are heading there late September for an RV show.

Doncat,

We are thinking about going to this show also but are not going in the RV.  Just a day-trip up I-35 from Austin.

I have found a few places outside of Dallas but know of nothing inside Dallas. Here is the link to State parks maybe you can find something in this... http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/prairies_and_lakes/

Cedar Hill looks pretty nice...

Thanks for the info. Maybe we will see you at the show, I will be the one drooling over all the rigs that I probably can't afford

I will be traveling from Shreveport, Louisiana. We are hoping to get some ideas on what to buy for our part-time maybe full-time rig. I am going to be taking a lot of notes and pictures

Thanks again for info ............ Don

I would not recomend "Destiny of Dallas" in Denton.  They are expensive and sights are very unlevel.  Very bad experience with Lieing about my reservation giving me a sight I did not reserve for a long term stay then chastisizing me for it.  When I wanted to talk to the owners they would not give me their contact information.  Robin the desk person on days should be fired for her attitude. Had enough to gall to call me names in front of a number of customers when I wasn't even talking to her.  Never in all my years have I ever been treated so bad anywhere.

Enough said...............

I have stayed at Destiny once. My experiences were not as bad as yours, however it is not on my list of campgrounds. The folks that worked there were not customer service oriented and the sites were not very good either. I expect more for the rates they charge.

I also stayed at Trader's Village, it is very noisey and cramped. The only thing they have going for them (according to my wife), is that they are next to a very large flea market.... They are also next to municipal airport with helicopters taking off early in the mornings...
