Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
On 9-17-2017 we drove off of Long Island NY, our first stop was in Pennsylvania

No , that's not all we did.
Everyone's situation is different, our adult son is with us. He doesn't have a devastating disease, but a number of medical conditions that sap his endurance.
My wife has health issues too. We are originally from Smithtown so we have come to find that it's easier to see the doctors that know us.
Fortunately, we spent the past two winters in Florida and have some Drs there. This winter will be our third and each time in a different RV park.
It's not all about health care, we like changing the area we are in and have found a variety of ways to travel north or south.
While in Smithtown we can stay on Laurie's mothers driveway. Nanny is 91, and when she retired introduced me to RVing.
We manage on 20amps, but this past July invested in an AC for the front area that has a window duct and plugged it into a different circuit.
We found a company that will pump out our tanks once a week, much easier than packing up just for that.
I looked back on some earlier posts and I haven't made the same mistake twice (mostly)
I misplaced my cost per night log, but figure the average to be around $30. I did start a new one about a month ago.
My experience with TV
Started out with Directv, but had difficulty aiming the large portable antenna, didn't want to invest in a rooftop unit so now we have Dish
Dish offers a self aiming HD antenna and one can watch up to two different channels at once on separate TVs. But the recording options are limited.
Directv had us with a 2 year contract, pricing seemed to change anyway. Dish is pay as you go in 30 day increments. Many RV parks now have free cable so occasionally we didn't have to re up with dish.
I am glad I took the advice offered when I first started visiting RV dreams and reading forum posts, a regret of many was wishing they had started sooner.
Well I was fortunate to retire at 59.5, of course we planned prior to that, and shortly after my 60th birthday we became full timers
