Roof Blisters

I had to trim a few tree branches from around my RV and decided to use the opportunity to take a look at the RV roof.  I noticed areas on the roof that look like the outer skin is blistering.  The skin (membrane) does not look cracked or otherwise compromised but I am concerned that with it not adhered to the roof it could crack or tear over time.

Although the RV is only three years old, the roof is exposed to the elements (Texas sun) year round.

Should I be concerned about this?  Is so, any suggested remedies?

As always, thanks for your help.

Steve

I believe in at least semiannual roof inspections (six minimum in your case) with the liberal use of rubber roof sealants. Have you tried any remedial measures?

Partly out of curiosity I asked for a quote from RV Armor for their roof system.  If your interested or ever wondered about the cost, here is their reply:

We are proud to offer what we consider the best RV roof system ever developed. When you see first hand the hard work over the two day installation, I think you will find that we offer a true value.

There is a reason why our roof system is seamless and maintenance free. We go over every square inch of your roof in extreme detail, which is why we can confidently offer a lifetime material and labor warranty that is tracked by the VIN of your RV.

You probably have questions and would like more details. Please feel free to call us anytime at 855-782-7667 as it would be our pleasure to answer anything else you would like to ask us so that you can make an informed decision.

We understand that taking care of your roof is an important decision and potentially a fairly expensive one. We also understand that you may not choose us, and that's okay. Our primary goal here at RV Armor is to help you through the process so that you have a good solid roof and can enjoy your travels worry free.

The RV Armor roof system runs $3,650 for any roof 26' or less in length.

Steve

Yes, you should be concerned. Get it fixed and inspect at least twice a year. RV roofs are not as durable as your home’s roof by a huge margin.
