Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hello, All!

This is my first post and I am confused as to how this works.  I hope I can find whatever page if need to get responses.

I am a "gonna be" RVer.  I've been retired since 14' and have decided to try RVing, and travel part of the year.  I am currently in San Diego and am looking for a used (2007-2012) Class C (maybe A) 30 foot or better.  I've haunted the dealers for the last year and found that RVs older than 2018 are very rare.  I search the web but don't really want to drive a 220 mile round trip to see an RV and return empty handed.  I am serious and have signed to pay extra for a month-to-month (not cheap in SD), hoping to find something in the next 2 mos.  I've read Minchey and Bill Myers.  Any advice?

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums, Gary.  You've started out OK by at least giving us an idea of your planning.  As for looking for an RV, you can make any inquiries in the section below labeled something like "Buying an RV."

I can't help much with finding a good used RV, but I'd venture that there are a lot out there that are older than 2018.  I'd say that the internet may be your best bet, at least for finding something that fits your needs.  As for traveling to see one, we did differently.  The wife and I drove almost 400 miles round trip, simply to see the inside of a model that we were considering, just to see the layout of the floor plan in person instead of via pictures.  In the end, we ordered that same floor plan and have been happy with it since.

Now that I've said, "Welcome," I'll let others give you a different perspective, and perhaps, a lot better way of finding what you want.

Terry

Go to rvtrader.com and there will be plenty of used class C rvs older than 2018, heck there's even a couple of new 2018's out there. That said I would not limit my search to any particular geographic area. Right now I plan to be in the market for a "super" C shortly and the area I'm looking in stretches from Texas to Florida to Minnesota (I live in Michigan). There aren't a lot of good RVs in any one particular area but they are out there. Florida, Texas and Arizona seem to have the largest concentrations. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome! A thirty foot MH will allow you to camp almost everywhere. Good size choice.

Welcome! If you want to look for a used unit in one area, you might keep an eye on the pplmotorhomes.com site in Houston, TX. They have tons of units and you could look at lots at one location, plus there are a few other dealers in the area to make a trip worthwhile.
