Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello, I've been living a sedentary lifestyle which is not really good for health and well-being. My wife and I are planning to take outdoor activities to re-energize my life and become more active. We both don't do well or excel in sports that's why we chose activities such as kayaking, camping, biking, and fishing. This is the reason why I want to know more about having an RV and towing one if necessary.

After several days worth of reading the full content you will be ready to start going through years of forum posts. I believe that this will answer most questions you may have.

One of the best way to learn about ALL of the different ways that people fulltime is go read the blogs of those you see posting in different RV forums. Most list there blog in their signature line (like we do) and you will find information and different types of rigs, different activities people do while traveling, interesting places to go, info on how to survive the 'breakdowns' that will occur, how things change over time and things you never thought to ask about.

Welcome to a wonderful lifestyle addition. I noticed mainly your comment on sedentary lifestyle not good for you. I can relate with diabetes!
Well, I have to tell you when hubby and I have been away in our RV for any length of time (often 3 to 12 week trip minimums), and I have my next set of blood tests my sugars are typically the best and the Dr is thrilled. We find when we are RVing we walk a ton more, love kayaking, fishing, do some biking (butt hurts more as it's aging so getting less on that LOL), and just are generally without effort it feels more active overall.
FWIW: We have a Class A Gasser and we don't tow by choice, as we find this encourages us to walk/bike even moreso, than when we had a truck and 5er in the late 90's. Just mentioning as a thought based on your goals???

Someday, I am a cyclist and noticed your comment above. When you butt hurts and you ride regularly it is usually because you are supporting too much weight on the butt. There a five points of contact...saddle, handle bars and pedals. Each needs to carry the right percentage. Raising your saddle in small amounts will transfer weight to the other four. Bicycle saddles are not for "sitting."
