Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Dyson Air Purifier

Is anyone using a Dyson Air Purifier in their RV?  They're pricey but on sale now.  I have asthma & allergies so I'm just wondering if it would be worth the expense.

We use another brand, Therapure, from Costco, about $100, and like it. We have had a couple others before, including a $200 one from Wal-Mart, and this one works the best and is the easiest to clean of the ones we tried. We normally turn it to night mode when sleeping, but will leave on a higher setting in noisy locations as a white noise generator. We have not tried Dyson, but the brand has a great reputation.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the Vornado and think that the Dyson's not at all worth the price premium, but it does have one advantage for an RV: for a given CFM, it seems to use less power than the Vornados. If it's plugged into the wall the payback period on the Dyson is years longer than the lifetime of the fan (so, never), but if you're on batteries most of the time it may make a bit of a difference.

The Dyson moves way more air for the same physical size fan though.
