Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Truck Bed Camera for 5th Wheel

We have a F350 that we purchased this year to tow our new 5th Wheel.  We paid to have a truck bed camera installed and were given a refund because of technical issues with the install and the camera.  Ford does not have the camera available yet.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a truck bed camera we can purchase and installed?

A similar question was just asked over on the Good Sam's forum this morning. I suggested they explore and possibly ask the question on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts' forum:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php

I've seen this same topic posted and discussed on the Ford forums several times recently.

Not sure if you're still looking but I have this one made by Swift Hitch. Amazon, "tiny" URL link ----> tinyurl.com/y8txljgz

Last year I had an above rail tool box and couldn't see the hitch at all. A friend who traded his fiver for a class a had this in his shed and gave it to me. Works great and you can reverse the image if you like so you don't have to guess which way is left or right on the camera.

I wound up removing the tool box and can now see the hitch. Been thinking of using a ziptie to mount it to the rear ladder of our fifth wheel so I can back up without a spotter when necessary. Not sure of its useful range though. (Hasn't been necessary yet)

Happy shopping!

Edit to add:  Another friend has a $30 license plate camera mounted on his tool box in the truck and pointed at the hitch.  Something like this -http://tinyurl.com/ybbdybhf  but you'll have to hardwire it.

Thanks Sean! So we took the truck for it's first oil change, etc. I learned that if the trailer package is installed at the factory when truck is made, the bed camera is included. The after market bed camera is the one not offered by Ford yet because the harness that holds the camera is not working. Our dealer found an after market camera that can be installed and connected to the onboard screen in the cab so we're taking it to the dealer this week. They are giving me a loaner car because it will take two days.

Great news!  Glad they were able to fix you up with one.  It definitely will make it easier.
