La Mesa is another big dealer, also the reality of life.... Fla is "Heavens waiting room" you can find great deals in the private sector.

We are Floridians and full timers as well.

We would only LOOK in Florida for RV's we would NEVER purchase an RV in Florida. Our experience when looking was dealers just do not want to move much off MSRP.

With that being said, we purchased our first TT in Florida, then all 3 other RV's were purchased out of state, in Michigan and the savings was well worth the road trip to pick up the RV's.

We did our looking and research in Florida and bought elsewhere.

You may get a great deal on a used MH in Florida from a private seller as Florida is full of snowbirds, especially in the Villages and Central Florida area.

Lazy Days in Sefner (just east of Tampa) is great! You can wander the lot without having a salesperson follow your every move. They have a large amount of RV's no matter what type your looking for. I use to live in Clearwater and would visit Lazy Days every couple of months to see what they had.

Alan, since you are planning on being full-timers it really doesn't matter where you buy your coach. If you are buying new you are going to be told by the factory that you should take your coach back to the selling dealer for warranty work. Unless you are going to spend one or two years full-timing close to the dealer, it probably won't be worth the cost to go back to the selling dealer. You may as well buy the best deal you can.

The catch, though, is those last five words, "the best deal you can." You have to add the cost of the round trip (fuel, food, hotel, etc.) to whatever you pay for the rig. On an expensive coach that may still be worth it to go halfway across the country to buy. A less-expensive one may not actually save you any money. Now, if your local dealer doesn't have what you want and the guy six States over does, well, you will have to decide what to do.

Suggestion: let your fingers do the walking - on the computer, that is. Look up www.pplmotorhomes.com/ and www.rvtrader.com/ to see what's available at your price and brand. If nothing else, it will give you something to compare to when the sales person tells you what a great deal they're offering you.
