Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
A couple of years ago we bought several strings of warm white outdoor LED lights (rope lights) to put on the ground around our coach. Several sections of each string have now quit working, so I'm thinking that the whole mess needs to be replaced. Suggestions?
In general they are cheap and easy to replace. Didn't Howard or Linda post a while back about a possible fire hazard from their rope lights? If you do use them be careful where you put them...

I have a couple of cheap sets of rope lights that I bought at the Camper Supply store (AKA Wal Mart) just after Christmas on a huge markdown. I use them on the ground under my coach to keep squirrels and other critters out and they seem to do a good job. We stay at a state park in the winter and haven't a problem with them in years.
Thanks. These are the "cheap" ones from Wal-Mart. We put them on the ground to keep critters out of the coach and to make it a bit easier on us when we are out after dark. We had the warm white ones and we really like them.
I used to have rope lights to keep the critters out from underneath but they kept breaking so I gave up on them. For critters…I got some of those little ultrasonic repellers that H&L recommend from Amazon. I put one on each side and another one inside at the rear (no plug back there on the outside).
For lighting…I got these things called solar rocks from Amazon…they're little cube lights about 3 inches on a side. Solar powered and they just sit there on the ground or pad…much easier to deploy than the rope lights were.
