Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone. My name is John (wife Juana). We live in sunny Florida. I am a New York transplant but my wife was born and raised here, so they tolerate me. Came across this site just last week and must say it has a wealth of information available. We are fairly new to RVing - about a year now. We have often discussed (actually my wife's idea but I'm coming along) the possibilities of doing this full time some day but did not know where to start. Been doing a lot research and have learned so much about many aspects of RVing, but there is so much more to learn. We do have an RV - not as big as most from what I have seen on this forum . We have a 23 Ft Forest River trailer-figured we would start small and work our way up. We are talking about some 5th Wheels and maybe a Class A for future purchase. We have already signed up for the Fall Rally in Tenn and look forward to meeting many of you there. I also wanted to say thank you to Howard and Linda for sharing so much valuable information on the site, it is a wonderful resource for those of us who are thinking seriously about this lifestyle. The site definitely does a great job of providing the information needed to make the most informed decisions before taking that final step. Thank you very much. See you in Sept.
Welcome John.......we have been fulltimers now for 2 years and this website is where we started! There is a wealth of information contained in this web site.
We planned our fulltime life beginning in 2009. Research and more research and subscribe to as many blogs as you can read.
Howard & Linda are wonderful folks. We have yet to meet an RVr who isn't friendly.
We also are Florida residents. We purchased a lot in a 55+ community where we spend the winter months. In the spring we leave Florida to travel our wonderful country and for now we are workamping.
We arrived on April 23rd at our summer workamping location in Custer, South Dakota at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort. What a fantastic location. We have deer every morning and every evening strolling by our RV! We have had snow twice already but it has not damped our spirits.
Full timing is a wonderful life if you plan for it!
Welcome! I'm one of the "small boys." Don't sell a 23 footer short. You can camp in almost all government campgrounds...not so for our big brothers.

Larry, thanks for that tit-bit of info on the Fed Camping areas did not know that.
Gary, Sounds like you are having a great time, Florida is great (we are in Northwest Panhandle) but looking forward to someday traveling the country like many of you are. What a great way to live.
I did New York to California 2x ( about 30 years ago) Once to transport sisters vehicle and then help brother move out there so really did not get to see as much as I would have like to.

Hi John & Juana,
Welcome! My wife and I started full timing this past March. We have lived in Florida for the past 4 years. We decided to sell the S&B home and full time RV. We are workamping here until next March then heading out to the Northwest for a while. We are attending the Spring Rally next week, so we will not see you in the Fall.
