Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

What are you reading?

We seldom go anywhere without our Kindles.  My question is this.  What do you read while you're gone?  My tastes are rather broad.  I enjoy Christian fiction, John Grishom, both Jonathan and Faye Kellerman, and Patricia Cornwell.  In the Christian Fiction, I loved the Baxter series by Karen Kingsbury.  I also devoured books by Irene Hannah, Terri Blackstock, and Kim Harris Hunt.

We enjoy mysteries and suspense stories.  Who do you read?

Just wondering,

I got a free account with bookbub or maybe bookpub…can't remember. I get a daily list of discounted and free books from them and mostly get the free ones. I will read anything. It bodice-rippers or romance. Spies, cops, space, western, eyre all good. Literatire…nope.  But entertaining.

I'm an avid reader and enjoy mystery books and have read most of the Patricia Cornwell series (Scarpetta).  I also enjoy John Sanford books, especially the Lucas Davenport series.  One of my other favorite authors would be James Patterson and his Alex Cross series.  Just finished The Nightengale, a story about World War II and a woman who helped rescue American and British pilots who crashed their planes behind German territory.  A great read.

I tried a Kindle and its convenient for some circumstances but nothing takes the place of physically turning a page. Call me 'old school'.......

I'll have to check those authors out. So far I've read everything by Lee Child, Brad Thor, Steve Hunter, James Wesley Rawles and Vince Flynn. Currently working through David Baldacci and William Johnstone.

I also tried Kindle but I've noticed that my attention is shorter reading on that tablet than when I do with actual books. Right now I'm enjoying the profanity of Charles Bukowski's poetry in Pleasures of the Damned.

I’m so disappointed in Anne Hillerman’s attempts to continue Tony’s series. Let someone else try please.

Another big thumbs up for John Sandford and the Davenport (28 books) series. He also has a Kidd series, and some one-off's. Very satisfying to read a book and the anticipation of looking forward to the story continue in the next one.

Robert Crais is one of my favorite authors.  His Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series is among the best in action detective-mystery novels.

Lee Child of course is the author behind the Jack Reacher series, and though his character is twice the size of Tom Cruise, don't let that distract you.  These books are excellent.

When you arrive at your full-hookup campground, call up your Amazon Prime video membership and tune into the Harry Bosch series.  Fantastic Michael Connelly books transformed to the screen.  Just as exciting, great acting, and a real treat to watch.

I'm on my 4th Kindle.  I love books, but the Kindle is so convenient, it goes with me everywhere.  Happy Reading!

One of my favorite authors is Dean Koontz. And if you like series, his 'Odd Thomas' series is excellent. I have a Kindle and really like it - especially due to it being easier for me to hold for longer periods and also less strain on my eyes than most paperbacks.

I just started The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami. Anyone here who's also interested in his novels?

Have you read "The Tour"? I have plan to read The Tour, The Heart's Appeal and The Chance by Karen Kingsbury in these Christmas holidays.

Well to be honest I'm not much of a book reader, my attention span is more suited to reading articles on different forums that might teach me something I can use down the road OR share with others that might help them. OR even watch short 'How to" YouTube clips.
Now Diane on the other hand goes through books like there is no tomorrow LOL!! In fact she just finished a book that had more pages in it that I have read my entire life.

Currently reading 2 books:
Get the Right Things Done" by Peter Bregman. It's not just about planning your day rationally, it's more about setting the priorities right and also covers managing task priority. For the day planner, and for the whole life.
Cache Lake Country: Or, Life in the North Woods by John J. Rowlands. A very fine memoir; my idea of a perfect summer read. I highly recommend it if you enjoy the outdoors.
