Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm a full time RVer looking to trade in my old fifth wheel. Ive been looking at this preowned 2011 Landmark Augusta by Heartland but, I don't know anything about this type of trailer. Is it a good model? Does it hold up well for full time Rving? What is the quality of this specific trailer? If it's not recommended, what do you recommend for full time RVing? I'm looking for preowned between 20k-26k. So basically, what older models would you recommend for a full timer if this Landmark Augusta is a bad choice?

The Landmark is the top of the Heartland line, and is one of three lines that are "approved" for full-time use. They are heavy, so you will need at least an F450-class truck.
20 to 26 thousand pounds? As in 10 to 13 tons? Oh brother.

We have a 2014 Landmark - Grand Canyon - we are a bit heavy at about 16,500lbs and we tow with a 2011 F350 Diesel super duty DRW 4x4 - no issues at all towing or stopping.
As far as quality of the rig - we've had only VERY minor issues and wholeheartedly recommend the brand. I might mention we've had ours since it was new and so buying used there is an element of unknown. There are other Heartland owners here, hopefully they will chime in.
We have a 2016 Landmark Key West - purchased new. We bought the Landmark because it is designed for full-time living which we plan to do later this year. We've had just a couple of minor issues and found dealing with Heartland to be very good.
When purchasing used - you don't know what you are getting. How about having a certified RV technician evaluate the rig? It may be worth the money you spend to find out what you are getting.
We are full timing in our 2011 Landmark Grand Canypn and are about 16,000# going down the road. going into our 6th year in this coach with no major issues.
