Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

It's days like this . . .

. . . That we can hardly wait to put behind us next winter! It was -30C last night (-22F) and -42C (-43.6F) with the windchill. The wind is 30km gusting to 60 km, with snow and blowing snow. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny but the high is only -28C (-18.4F) with a windchill of -43C (-45.4F). Yes, that's the HIGH!!! School busses didn't run today, and anyone with half a brain (and any fingers and toes left that haven't broken off) stayed home today.

Sometimes in the dead of winter in Saskatchewan, I truly forget what it feels like to be hot!

I feel ya!! I lived near Chicago for a number of years. Their weather and that big lake conspire to make winter a miserable experience. Haven't been anywhere near there in a VERY long time and currently staying south of US Interstate 10 during the winter.

Yes, that cold, damp weather and huge wet dumps of snow would be awful. I've seen news coverage of storms there that are way worse than anything we get here. In Saskatchewan, at least it's a dry cold!

I know I shouldn't say anything..... I can't help myself. It's 82 out on my deck this afternoon with a nice ocean breeze blowing in. An average Winter afternoon here in Mazatlan. We had fresh shrimp for dinner last night, (Not frozen - pun intended) This town is full of Canadians trying to avoid the snow.

Retirement is great.

Haha - too good! We had FROZEN shrimp (straight out of the Costco bag) with bbq steak a couple nights ago - my husband braved the cold (I think it was -17 or so) to grill our meat, and I sautéed those little suckers in garlic butter. Yummy - but nothing like the real deal straight out of the ocean. I'm very jealous :)

My sister has been reporting single digit nights at home in Montana, while here in the deserts of Arizona it may dip into the mid 40's during the night. Beautiful days in the 60's-70's

Loving the RV lifestyle...Hang on Spring is just around the corner!

It helps that we spend all our free time researching campsites for next winter, thinking about generators versus solar panels, and dreaming of outfitting our camper for our life-to-come. The days are getting longer - two minutes of sunshine more a day, I heard this morning! Woohoo - it's now daylight from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm!!! I poke fun because I live here, but you're right - spring will be here before we know it :)

I see lots of Saskatchewan license plates here at the campground in Mesa AZ. You will have lots of company escaping winter.

We feel your pain laymans terms!! You must live close because we also woke to-35C that felt like-43 with the chill. So refreshing.....not! Have to wait for end of February 18 to bail out of this weather in winter. Wind gusts yesterday were 80-90 km/h (50-60 mph) and the snow from Saskatchewan was likely blowing through our yard lol. Enjoy it now and a couple years we'll laugh and steal some shrimp from ranger in mazatlan😜

Brrrr - you had us beat by a degree or two! That wind must have cut right through your bones. Russ and Terri, keep a close eye on that shrimp because we Prairie chickens are going to come pecking - haha!

Very funny Larry - catchy tune :D

Mama also said there'd be days around the freezing mark, and thank goodness that's what's on the way by the end of the weekend! Good-bye, deep freeze. You won't be missed!

It's arrived here too, Trailerking! We've been out walking the last couple nights, in light jackets and gloves. Heaven! But still a stretch from fresh shrimp and a Mazatlan sunset ;)

Every warm day helps though - one day closer to the dream!
