Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I am currently planning a trip with my family which includes my wife and two kids in coming months in Texas. As I’ve never experienced  RV Camping Before so if anyone knows some good RV Parks around Texas which are not very expensive but still comfortable? Any tips on how to trace these RV Parks. Any suggestion is appreciated.

We use http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ to check on the amenities and pricing of parks. You can drill down to the area you are looking for. Join Passport America to find parks with 50% discounts, as well as Good Sam.

The first place we look is an app called Allstays. It gives you most campgrounds with a short description. Then we use rvparkreviews, tripadvisor, etc to get a feel for the place.

You may also want to check out Texas State Parks. We winter in Texas and have found them to be nice campgrounds with many having full hookups. If you buy a $75 annual pass it includes free camping nights, and admission to the parks.

Also, if you are in Houston, Advanced RV Resort is very nice with a pool, good wifi, and cable. It is a central location to Galveston, Space Center, and downtown museums.

 Two resources come to mind that will help you: Good Sams and Passport America. Pay the $40 to join Passport America (only after you've found a park by searching on their website that you like) and you'll likely get 50% off the rate.
