Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

First overnight stop at a Cabela's

Cabela's is pretty well known to be RV friendly for overnight stops (city ordinance dependent), but for the past 3 years, their locations and our travel schedules just haven't aligned.  This past weekend the one in Lacey WA fit very well into our options and after looking at traffic through Tacoma / Seattle / Everett we decided to stop early on a Saturday and do that horrible I-5 north drive early on Sunday.

Great stopover for us, however, it has to be one of the MOST expensive "free campsites" we've ever stopped at!!  LOL, Dale has been saying he needed to replace a few pair of his hiking shorts for a long time and with a relatively early stop on a Saturday afternoon with time to kill and their Father's Day sale in progress, he now gets to start purging one of his dresser drawers to make room for the new hiking shorts.

We've had enroute stops at Wal-Mart, truck stops and casinos and by far this was the quietest, least crowded option we've encountered for those one night blacktop boondocking locations.

It is much quieter at the Lacey Cabelas than than Wal-Mart across I-5.

Bass Pro Shops are the same way....
Her- "Lets just boondock for the night"
Me- "Ok find us a Walmart or something"
Her- Seeing a Bass Pro Shop sign- "Don't they allow overnight stays?"
Me - very meekly.... "yes they do...."

The next morning $$$$$$$$$$

I can certainly see how a Bass Pro shop would be another expensive stop! However, I did not know that they allowed overnight RV parking, thanks for that tip, will have to check that out for a future stopover. Almost anything would be quieter than a WalMart, we've gotten really tired of Wally Docking.

The Cabela's in Sidney Nebraska has a very nice campground and if you have your horses with you they have nice horse camping with corrals.  This is their headquarters for their company.  The store is also very nice.
