Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Living in a senior living Co-OP for 3 years, after deciding to downsize from a home we lived in for 28 years was hard to do. But living with neighbors that drive you nuts got us to thinking that we didn't want to spend our retirement years wilting away in our recliners being miserable. So after much discussion we headed out and bought a used 35 ft 5th wheel and a used one ton Ford dually and enjoy the world around us.
My husband doesn't retire until the end of the year so we have been working on downsizing again and getting the RV ready for some boondocking and making it our new home. For the first year we will be storing our furniture, which isn't a lot, and our motorcycles. With the newness of the lifestyle change we will decide if this is really what we want to do for however many years the good Lord allows. If we love this life, we will sell more of our possessions and drop the storage fees. We do plan on bringing our motorcycles with us after the first year is under our belt. :)
It will be a challenge to leave here in the beginning of a Minnesota winter and head to the snowless south. But with God as our pilot we will do just fine. As we travel I know we will come across more challenges than that. hehe But we are looking forward to our new life of full time RVing. With all the good advice from all the wonderful people here, it will make the transition much easier.

Mamma, ya'll get out there and enjoy this great country. As you no doubt know, some of us in the south have received a significant amount of liquid sunshine. But ya'll c'mon on down.
I'll wager you both are still full of adventure and the 'wonder what's around the next corner' mindset.

Having lived in Chicago & Wis. for 50 years the transition to the South (Texas) was daunting but DW will tell you that it is like pulling teeth to get me to go back up North even for the family picnic. Love when I can ride the 4 X 4 on Christmas with no jacket and No Snow! Prefer 72 to -20! The south is a great place to boondock and watch animals and Mother Nature and not be miserable listening to some overcrowded unhappy people complaining and piled all over the place!
There are some really good and happy interesting people you will meet on this forum and on your journey!
