We bought one this year and really liked it. Problem for us was the wind was always blowing up in northern Michigan (we were on a hill), so we could rarely use it. When it was out, we loved it.

You may have already thought of this, but if your Cardinal has wind sensors that will retract the awnings when the wind gets up, you'd need to disable the automatic retraction and possibly tie down you awning.

We have both the SunBlocker that attaches to the roller and the SideBlockers that close off the ends. They are great at cutting down on the sun under the awning depending on your angle but do cut back on getting much breeze under it so we usually keep the side ones pulled back a bit. We like them and will continue to use them.

We like them but only put them out when we're here in FL for the winter…too much trouble to put them on to use during the travel season. You can't roll the awning all the way in with them installed. I have found that when it gets too breezy for our tie downs I can just pop the side ones off and then bring the awning in about 9% percent of the way…stopping just before it rolls into the rounded cover the last 3/4 turn or so of the roller as it seats. This gets it closed enough to prevent any wind unfurling problems and the SunBlocker just rolls around the roller making it fatter than it would otherwise be.

As noted in another reply…you'll have to disable the auto retraction mechanism if you have it…we don't have one.

We also stake our awning down when we're here for the winter…and usually stake it down during travel season as well…either that or don't leave it out while we're out and about if it's not staked down.

We recently purchased an RV with a sunscreen. It rolls up in the awning, we have only used it once. The awning is powered and appears not to be adjustable. It can not be raised and lowered to block more sun like our old awning so for this reason I thing we will like the screen. I'm wondering now if it might be side screens for the awning, I will have to pull it out and take a look.
