Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well, my son has moved out and I definitely don't need a 4 bdrm house. So, its sold and I'm heading South for the winter. Some of my buddies think I'm way too young for the RV lifestyle, but life is what we make of it, right? And hey, see ya' on the roaooood!!!

hey koop I see your from Kelowna iam from coldstream
Congratulations!! Some people thought we were to young also, but we have heard way to many stories of people who waited and then illness stopped them from ever experiencing their dream.
Hey everybody thanks for the well wishes!
Sometimes the whole process seems so overwhelming, but having people like you guys out there sure is helping!
I just finished 20 hrs of Air Brake training (mandatory in BC) and passed my "pre-trip inspection" w/only one de-merit so off to ICBC (our provincially monopolized insurance company lol) tmrw to write my test.......[fingers crossed]
Glad to see you're going about it the "Right Way" and getting proper endorsements for operating a heavy, air-brake equipped vehicle. Some have thoughts of it just being an RV and figure can just hop in it and drive.
Not yet.....deposit is down though. They are putting on new rubber tmrw, and waiting on the Diamond Shield til Wed......I should be training in it by Thursday.....and maybe on the road by Sat. I'm getting my satellite system installed in Junction City OR so I am planning on crossing in Osoyoos and heading down to Yakima and then over to Portland.
--------UPDATE-------
Sorry I took so long guys, but I was having issues w/my device.
I left Penticton Sat at dawn and had no issues crossing at Osoyoos, but then again, I am American so I didn't anticipate any issues.
HWY 97 was a good route, with only shoulder snow appearing between Wenatchee and Ellensburg. I spent night #1 at the Flying J in Aurora south of Portland and headed to Junction City on Sun for my Directv install. BTW...I highly recomend Innovative Coachworks....Noah and James hooked me up! And they have a courtesy lot w/55 and H20.
Day 4 sees me writing this at the 49er in Sacramento while I'm enjoying the BEST cobb salad I've ever had!
Next update won't be so long winded I promise.
Cheers!
With just over 2 mos left this year, I don't believe I will have time for TX. I have commitments in Vegas, Tuscon, Vancouver and Oakland coming up.
Very busy.
And I am still deciding whether I am cut out for RV Park living. I believe next year that I will seeing some State/Natl Parks....but all options are still on the table! Lol
We're looking forward to being able to travel more. Heading to an RV show this weekend. Hubby still has at least 5 years to work so we're shopping for our used rig new😄. If you find yourself in south Texas let us know. We are literally next door to the world birding headquarters in a state park if you're into that. And depending on when you're in rather area we can connect you with a neighbor for a rental spot.

Hello all. My first winter on the road is nearing an end.....it has been a blast! My son flew down and is now road tripping home w/me. Currently we are in Oakland to catch a Warriors game tmrw night. I have been mobile for 132 days, my longest stint was at Circus Circus for 12 nights. I have learned soooo much. Thanks again to everybody for your input.
It's so wonderful to read an update on how your first snow birding winter has panned out Koop. Good luck to you and fabulous that your son was able to join you and travelling back together.
Safe and happy travels,
SD.
