Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Repair Recommendation

Has anybody ever had repairs done by North Trail RV in Fort Myers FL?

We need to have our slide topper cloth replaced and also need a little fiberglass repair/painting under our 5ver bedroom after some damage on our Alaskan tour this summer. North Trail is pretty close but I have no experience with them. I know that many of you have used Lazy Days up in Tampa but would rather go local unless there's a good reason to pull the rig to Tampa over the winter.

Any recommendations pro or con for either North Trail, another Fort Myers/Naples area dealer or Lazy Days Tampa?

Thanks.

Have you checked them out on RVSERVICEREVIEWS.COM?  I saw a couple of entries there - one entry for Ft Myers, the other for Ft. Laud.  The Ft. Myers ones looked pretty good.

Good luck!

Alan, I had never heard of rvservicereviews…but will check them out. I didn't realize there was a decent review site for RV repair places.

I try to find Mom and Pop places instead of a big dealer like North Trails. Big dealers mostly have techs to do PDIs and such, so the techs are not the best. My only experience with North Trail is we contacted them to find out where they get alignments done on motorhomes and the place they sent us did not do a good job.
Lazy Days does not have that good a reputation on repairs, but has lots of advertising that says they are good at it.

Rats…there is the local mobile tech at Seminole Quality Matters RV Repair that has done some work in the past but I don't think he does any fiberglass work. I guess I'll give him a call about the slide toppers and also see who he recommends for fiberglass repair. it's just the seam cover piece that's damaged anyway and it's underneath the bedroom on the 5ver…basically it just needs a piece of the seam material cut/bent to shape/painted then it just screws to the bottom of the bedroom…should be a relatively simple repair.

I did check the reviews for North Trail on rvservicereviews.com and there were 3 in total…2013, 2005 and earlier. All said they done good but nothing recent. Maybe the office at Seminole has a recommended fiberglass place…with all the RVs in Florida there's gotta be somebody decent close.

Are ya'll coming back to Seminole again this year or staying elsewhere?

We will be in Mesa Arizona this winter. We are trying to figure out when we can go back to Florida again and hope we figure it out early enough to get a space at Seminole.
