Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
first nite in Rv last nite recently divorced sold everything,50 years old retired and scared to death about the venture yall have been very informative . Going to set up in Texas for winter hoping to learn from folks in parks ! Selling everything was weird yet liberating! I'll take any advice cause I need it
Just remember, one day at a time! Take your time just to enjoy your new surroundings and get out there and meet new people! I admire your courage! You know you have a huge support group here!
I just did as well last weekend and I have to say that I slept like a baby, it was surprising how at peace and liberating was the feeling that I finally took the step of buying it and I am now looking forward for the next step. Take it easy, don't rush and enjoy every minute of the process, and ask tons of questions like I am because I am new at it and on my own with my dog.
It's been a year since I got rid of my stuff and the only thing I have missed is an art piece that was too big for the rig and a ceramic Christmas tree that was supposed to come but accidentally was put in storage. The things that mattered to me I kept in a small storage locker with the intent to reevaluate in two years. The things I let go, I really let go of. That being said, my husbands experience is a bit different. It's not so much that he misses things but he hates letting go of certain things...if that makes sense. The kids took some stuff and now a year later are getting rid of some of the stuff they took and he is trying to make his peace with that.
