Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Just Dreamin'

I am dreaming of fulltiming at retirement time in 4-6 yrs.  I will be going Solo, and it scares my son and family!  I will be spending the next few years, purging, simplifying, and educating myself  by reading a bunch of sites like this!  I am so glad to have found you!  Are there any chapters of your group out west?  It seems that your get-togethers have been in the Great Lakes area, I would love to rub shoulders with other like minded people out here!  Hope to get to know you better!

Not necessarily groups out West, but several of us that stick to the West Coast. Where are you currently located? We travel WA/ID/OR/NV/CA and AZ for 95% of our travels, following the good weather, of course.

Welcome!! Have met quite a few solo's out there and continue to be impressed. Know a few of them that travel in groups, some travel by themselves, but all seem to really enjoy themselves!! Welcome!!

Janeen,

Welcome to the RV Dreams forums.  You will find the folks that participate here are very friendly and helpful.  As for groups, RV Dreams doesn't really have those, but there are RV Dreams folks all over the country.  What you may be seeing for back East are Howard and Linda's seminars, and they are staying East because of Howard's dad's health.

While we aren't traveling yet, we are currently in the Colorado Springs area, and we've met up with a few RV Dreams folks here.  If you are interested in meeting folks from the forums, just post a question in some place like "Community Chat" to see if anyone is in an area where you will be.  You can also check out the forum category entitled, "RVillage Members Discussion Forum."  I guess if you sign up for that, as long as folks keep their location updated, you could find where you will be.

Have fun with the research and planning.

Terry

Sounds like you need to include a portable Hot Tub, a few candles, something nice to drink - Nightmares gone!

As I read more, I see this site is more packed with info than a "club" type thing!  I am anxious to get out on the road, but there is a lot of work to do first - Like retire!  Thanks for your post!

Thanks for your post!.  I guess I am not really all that alone ~ I have a 13 lb boyfriend that takes his half out of the middle!  Really, what my main concern is, is maneuvering a truck and 40' Fifth wheel.  But I guess, it is something that I can learn to do!!!

Welcome aboard. Knowledge is your friend. You'll plenty of it around these parts.

..."Really, what my main concern is, is maneuvering a truck and 40' Fifth wheel.  But I guess, it is something that I can learn to do!!!"...

We've not attempted a huge (to us) 5er trailer but that isn't stopping us from taking on the challenge when our time comes, so we're cautious, but not afraid. Dream on!smile Game on! The only thing we have to fear.... is fear itself.  No Fear!

Now pass the margarita's!biggrin
